Located within an atas HDB, Wild Wild Catch is a western stall at Essen @ The Pinnacle. Granted, it’s not technically a restaurant or cafe, but the clean and cosy ambience sure makes it close to one. Their signature Fish & Chips ($12) is served with seasoned fries, garden salad and lemon with a choice of tartar sauce or Greek yogurt. Other mains include Clams in White Wine Broth ($12) and Claypot Style Prawn Cream Soup ($12). There are also various Seafood Platters ($35/$55/$85), which consists of fresh catches such as half shell scallops, crab claws and prawns.

A social enterprise that specifically employs special needs youth, Joan Bowen Café was born as a humble dream of Joan’s, a special needs youth who wanted to be a chef. Her parents started the cafe over six years ago and Fish and Chips ($10), Seafood Aglio Olio ($16) and Chili Crab Pasta ($16) are some of the mains offered at here. With its homely atmosphere and relaxed environment, it’s easy to find yourself lingering even after finishing your meal.

As part of the Sapporo Beer group, Ginza Lion Beer Hall has been around since 1899, with its first outlet located at Ginza, Tokyo. Walk into the restaurant and you will be greeted with a whole wall of beers and spirits, infused with a Japanese vibe. Serving classic western fare in a casual and fuss-free environment, Mad Jack is a Halal-certified bistro conveniently located near Dhoby Ghaut MRT. Psycho Fish and Chips ($8.90+) comes with a side of peach and apple salad as well as fries. The fried fish fillets are crispy on the outside while being substantially fluffy on the inside, making it a no brainer when it comes to food selection here. The Usual Place is a relatively new joint located just a 5- to 10-minute walk from Chinese Garden MRT Station. Serving dishes such as Fish & Chips ($9.90), Salted Egg Prawn Pasta ($12.90) and Honey Soy Chicken ($8.90), this can really be your usual place with its classic offerings. Desserts such as S’mores Waffles ($7.50) and a selection of cakes are also available for those with a sweet tooth.
