Sure, having a quirky interior and a tantalising spread helps, but it is always the facade that lures me in first – the more interesting it is, the better! Here are seven restaurants with the prettiest storefronts in Singapore that serve up equally Instagrammable food. 1. FOC Sentosa

Be whisked away to the buzzing beaches of Barcelona when you dine at FOC Sentosa. Towering over the pristine white sand of Palawan Beach is its gorgeous marine blue and white wooden structure, which feels grand yet inviting at the same time.

The beach outpost of Michelin-starred chef Nandu Jubany’s FOC Hong Kong Street, expect the same great Mediterranean cuisine here, but with a stronger focus on seafood delights. Think dishes like King Crab Cannelloni ($22++) featuring fresh Alaskan king crab meat wrapped around zucchini ribbons.

2.  Non Entrée Desserts

You might have seen their mouthwatering molten lava cakes on Instagram. But if you’ve yet to visit Non Entrée Desserts, you will realise that their space is just as stunning as their desserts. Strongly resembling the quaint cafes in Korea is their cheery yellow shop front boasting rustic rattan chairs – perfect for that dreamy #OOTD shot.

Their desserts will also bump up your likes thanks to their imaginative presentation, such as the IKE (Pond) ($17.90++), featuring goma (black sesame) gelato coated in soya flour, sesame brittle, umeshu koi, matcha mochi pebble, and hand-roasted sencha with aged sake consommé.

3. Plank Sourdough Pizza

Plank Sourdough Pizza stands out from the neighbouring houses along Opera Estate thanks to its intriguing facade made up of colourful window shutters commonly seen on shophouses. We are surprised their exterior hasn’t gotten much coverage, because it is beautifully eye-catching.
Just as alluring are their pizzas. Using sourdough bread as the base and baked in a wood-fired oven, the delicate crust is both airy and chewy. Fans of seafood must try the Smoked Salmon Pizza ($24++) featuring wild mushrooms, prawns, capers, rocket, smoked salmon, sour cream and dill. They also offer a comforting Vegetarian Pizza ($24++) that’s topped with tomato, sauteéd onions, portobello and oyster mushrooms with mirin, flaked parmesan, and truffle oil.

4. B Burger
Burgers, fries and everything nice. And by everything, we mean their floor-to-ceiling neon orange window fittings by the entrance. Replacing the two-storey Lacoste store in Cineleisure, B Burger is certainly bringing Cineleisure back to its glory days. Best part? There’s a bar seat just behind the windows, allowing you to pose for a photo that’s worthy to be on the cover of Dazed.
Pair your outfit with one of their juicy, hand-rolled beef burgers. Unlike other fast food joints, B Burger’s patties are never frozen and only grilled upon order. Highly recommended is The Baller Burger ($10.90), which comprises of a fried buttermilk portobello, beef patty, punchy cheddar cheese, nori and their umami B Sauce.

5. Pollen

Not many know this, but Pollen actually has two entrances. The first overlooks the waterfront and is connected to the main fine dining area. The second – located at the level two terrace – is more noteworthy, for it is enveloped by beautifully exotic blooms that set a lovely atmosphere for an elegant meal.

Look forward to a boozy afternoon this November with their Hendrick’s Gin Afternoon Tea ($50++), where you can savour dainty morsels inspired by the 11 botanicals in Hendrick’s gin along with some tantalising tea time tipples. Once you’re done treating your bellies, you can take the flowery exit for a complimentary stroll around the Mediterranean garden.

6. Piedra Negra

Located along the largest wall mural in Singapore, it’s no wonder there’s always a throng of tourists snapping photos outside Piedra Negra. But the vibrant artwork is not the only reason why this Mexican eatery is on our list; it’s their stunning frontage that reminds me of traditional Mexican restaurants. Fun fact: The turquoise blue doors and windows are said to ward away evil spirits, according to Mexican folklore.Â

7. Masons

Minimalists will love Masons’ exterior. Decked in black and white, the structure dates back to 1935 and was beautifully restored to honour the elegance of colonial times. The surrounding greenery adds to its appeal, and I never feel like I’m in Singapore whenever I’m dining here.

Gracing the menu are Italian classics such as Tortellini Truffle ($28++) and Seafood Nero ($28++), a squid ink linguine pasta with seafood. Made fresh-to-order are pizzas that feature traditional thin crusts. Go for an Asian twist with the scrummy Enzo ($26++) that’s topped with Peking duck, fresh Japanese cucumber, and spring onions.
