Acai Brothers: Famous Acai Cafe From Australia Opens In Singapore

Australia’s Acai Brothers now in Singapore

Acai bowls are the perfect middle ground between health food and sweet treat. Since its first appearance in Singapore a few years ago, acai bowls have become a popular dessert and breakfast treat, so much so that they’re commonplace on cafe menus islandwide. There are even a number of dedicated DIY acai bowl cafes around the city too! The latest to join the fray is Acai Brothers. It’s not a new name entirely, but one that’s making its debut in Singapore.

Acai Brothers is Australia’s leading superfood bar. They were first established in 2014, and have grown into a national chain, with 20 stores across the country. The Acai Brothers Singapore outlet is their first step into the Southeast Asian market. While most would expect the cafe to be located in Orchard or the CBD, Acai Brothers Singapore has chosen humbler grounds to make their mark, with their local flagship located in Kovan.

The spacious cafe is all industrial minimalism, with concrete furnishings, and a tiled bar where the acai magic happens. You can choose from five different bowls to DIY: Original (from $7.50), Grapefruit (from $8), Lemon (from $8), Lemon Meringue (from $8), and Nutella (from $7.50). All bowls come in three sizes: regular, large, and sharing.

Each bowl starts off with an acai base, made with non-GMO berries. Then, you add on your fruits of choice, as well as toppings that range from coconut yoghurt and chia seeds, to protein powders and granola. Finally, finish off your order with a sauce, whether it be indulgent chocolate, peanut butter, or salted caramel, or fruity options such as berry and mango. Prices increase depending on the number of toppings.

If you’re overwhelmed by BYOB options, then there are six pre-designed bowls that you can order instead, with prices starting at $11.
