Ballistic Meatballs: A Whole New Ball Game

Update (4th April 2019): Ballistic Meatballs has permanently closed.

Located within Bedok Marketplace, Ballistic Meatballs is a new age cafe located within a hawker center. You can look forward to a comprehensive menu that covers everything from all-day breakfast to pizzas and desserts. And that’s on top of their speciality – homemade meatballs.

To get the ball rolling, we had their Signature Ballistic Meatballs ($5.90 for 5 pieces). These crispy sesame-battered beef balls are drizzled with furikake mayonnaise, and come with a gooey cheesy center that is best eaten when served piping hot.

We also had their highly popular Crispy Crab Balls ($10.50 for 4 pieces). Resting on a luscious bed of chilli crab sauce, these golden nuggets come packed with fresh crabmeat and clams. This successful recreation of a quintessential Singaporean dish is my new favourite way to satisfy my chilli crab craving without any mess.

Opt for the Plain Jane Meatballs ($4 for 5 pieces) if you are in the mood for something simple. The humble vegetarian meatball stood out the most for me, with sweetness from sweet potatoes that somehow reminded me of popiah filling.

Those who have a larger appetite should give their lacklustre Quesadilla ($7.50 for half) a miss and go for the Crabmeat Linguine ($9.50) instead. Served with a generous amount of shredded crabmeat and an addictive spicy garlic broth, pair this with the meatballs for a complete meal.

I also particularly enjoyed the Roasted Tomato Soup ($3.50). This hearty, tangy and sweet soup is filled with chunks of onions and tomato bits, and we polished off this bowl in no time.

Ballistic Meatballs even serves up sweet desserts apart from all their mains. I particularly enjoyed the Salted Caramel Parfait ($3.90) that comes topped with crunchy salted caramel cookie crumble and chocolate chips. The Tiramisu ($5) uses chocolate wafers instead of regular ladyfingers, making it perfect for all chocolate lovers out there.
