10 Beautiful Restaurants To KIV For Small Weddings Or Private Events

Beautiful restaurants for special occasions

Big banquets at upscale hotels used to be the classic perception of a wedding dinner. But times are changing, and millennial lovebirds are turning to smaller, more intimate venues that allow them to really interact with loved ones.

These 10 beautiful restaurantsall of which are MICHELIN-Listed—fit that bill, setting the scene for an unforgettable wedding or solemnisation ceremony. Boasting gorgeous yet cosy interiors with impeccable food to match, these are marvelous choices for any special occasion.

Plus, Maybank Cards lets you do all that while shaving some bucks off the cheque, so you’ll have a few more dollars to spend on your honeymoon.

1. Alma by Juan Amador

Alma by Juan Amador blends old-world charm and modern gastronomy into an uber-refined, one-MICHELIN-Starred package. Housed in idyllic Goodwood Park Hotel, this Spanish-European restaurant presents a 4-Course Dinner Dégustation Menu ($117++) that’s bound to impress guests.

Each plate is a work of art. The ‘Ohmi’ Beef (add $22++) is a fine example, pairing a mind-bogglingly tender slab of beef with Japanese burdock root and yuzu kosho. Even more ravishing are the Wild Strawberry, which floats on a cloud of foam, and Hokkaido Scallop, where an ultra-fresh disc of scallop bathes in a perky passionfruit and vanilla sauce. Meanwhile, the Iberico Pork Jowl is wonderfully balanced, as sour apple and umami-packed pork reduction accompany the unctuous meat.

Have a taste of this avant-garde cuisine with your Maybank Credit or Debit Card to net 10% off your total bill.

2. Buona Terra

Housed in a lofty colonial bungalow just outside of Orchard Road is MICHELIN Plate awardee Buona Terra. Its quiet yet accessible location makes it great if you’re looking to throw a private wedding with your closest friends and family. The dinner menu starts from 3 course + 1 dessert at $128++, and you can create your own menu from a wide variety of dishes. We recommend ordering the succulent Mozambique Scampi with beetroot and comice pear, as well as the Linguine Rustichella D’Abruzzo with fresh tomato, baby squid, and squid ink sauce.

Skip the classic desserts like tiramisu and opt for the Sigaro Esotico instead. Shaped like a cigar, the ashes are actually coconut meringue, while the cigar itself is a thin cocoa wafer filled with chocolate passion fruit mousse. Sweeten your meal here with a complimentary glass of 2014 Antica Fratta Franciacorta Essence Brut (RP92+) when you pay with your Maybank Credit or Debit Card. Just remember to quote ‘Maybank’ when making your reservation.

Part of COMO Dempsey, this is a spectacular spot for a memorable wedding, with its sprawling indoor dining room and colonial-style verandah facade. It’s a perfect middle ground to fulfill your dreams of a swanky wedding bash while making your Peranakan grandma happy.

The cheekily named Ah-ma-kase Menu ($88++ for lunch, $128++ for dinner) is a communal take on Japanese omakase, with a bevy of sharing portions that showcase the full breadth of Peranakan cuisine. Get started with appetisers like the smoky and juicy Charcoal Grilled Maori Lakes Lamb Shoulder Satay, before filling up on sharing bowls such as the piquant Blue Swimmer Crab Curry and luscious Westholme Wagyu Beef Rib Rendang. A selection of flawless Homemade Traditional Nyonya Kueh marks the end of your meal with a flourish of sweetness.

Your Maybank Credit or Debit Card adds a boozy spark to this fiesta of Peranakan flavours, as complimentary white wine, red wine or house cocktail is tagged along with each order of the Ah-ma-kase Menu.

10. Lewin Terrace

Fashioned out of a beautiful colonial bungalow and surrounded by lush greenery, MICHELIN Plate awarded Lewin Terrace will wow your wedding guests by whisking them away from the city’s hubbub and serving up an elegant marriage of Japanese and French flavours. That’s evident in dishes such as Foie Gras Sakuramochi ($32++), where luxurious goose liver is given kisses of fruity and floral flavour by strawberry, a raspberry-flavoured port wine sauce, and a salt-cured sakura flower.

Meanwhile, their signature Cod Saikyo Miso ($42++) brims with finesse, combining buttery cod with subtly sweet Kyoto saikyo miso on a bed of mountain vegetables. Go for the Garden Of Eden ($20++) to end off your meal on a stunning sweet note. Bonus: Béni

One-MICHELIN-starred Béni has two VIP rooms for private rendezvous sessions, but we rather you book out the main area of the restaurant where the magic happens. The counter table, which sits eight bon vivants, is only an arm’s-length away from the open kitchen, giving you the chance to marvel at the talented chefs as they prepare your meal with precision.

The 5-course lunch dégustation menu is $88++, while the dinner dégustation begins from $258++, with top-ups depending on the dishes you choose. We never thought one of the best bao we ever tasted would be from a Japanese-French restaurant, but Béni’s Pao (additional $20++) certainly deserves a mention, with a thick slab of foie gras and truffle nestled in a pillowy bun. The Yonezawa A5 Wagyu also impresses, with beef that melts in your mouth like butter.

Maybank Cardmembers can wash these all down with the complimentary serving of sake, wine, or their signature Royale Blue Tea.

Address: 333A Orchard Road, #02-37, Mandarin Gallery, Singapore 238897
