10 Beef Noodles Soup Stalls Including Wagyu Beef Soup And Thai Beef Noodles

Eat at these beef noodles soup stalls

A good ol’ slab of juicy steak is something I will never complain about. But on days when I’m simply craving for something less heavy but equally hearty and comforting, beef noodles soup satisfies the shiok factor just as well. NamNam Noodle Bar has been doing a good job as one of my top few go-to places for beef noodles, but if you want more varieties or something more economical, here are 10 places to get affordable beef noodles!

1. J&J Special Beef Noodle

J&J Special Beef Noodle serves more than 10 different types of beef noodles, from Braised Beef Noodle ($5.50/$7.50) to Wagyu Beef Soup Noodle ($11). The latter is a must-try and comes with thin slices of raw beef slices that are only cooked when the hawker pours the boiling soup over the meat. Besides being impressed by the tender and silky beef slices, the soup also left a mark on me, as it was light with a distinct beef taste.

2. Yi Zun Noodle

Opened just a few months ago, Yi Zun Noodle is a Muslim-owned Chinese restaurant found in Little India. Their signature dish, the Yi Zun Noodle With Sliced Beef ($7.80+/$9.80+), comprises of hand-pulled noodles, lean beef slices, and a clear but robust soup. For those who prefer something heavier in terms of taste, a good option would be their Yizun Noodle Minced Meat ($6.80+). Like zha jiang mian, this dish comes with minced meat and a wide variety of ingredients such as soya beans, bean sprouts, coriander, cucumber, and shredded carrots.

Opening hours: Daily 11am to 10pm

3. Nuodle

If you are a fan of beef noodles, you would have tried Nuodle, a famous beef noodles brand that originated from Lan Zhou. Found at SingPost Centre, Nuodle’s Signature Beef La Mian ($8.80) comprises of a generous heap of hand-pulled noodles, beef slices, and radish. While the soup was already well-flavoured with a strong beef taste, we recommend piling on their scallions and chilli oil, as it gives the entire dish an oomph that really completed our experience.

4. Gin Sen

For a Thai version of beef noodles soup, hit up Gen Sen at Old Airport Road Food Centre. Look-wise, their Thai Beef Soup Noodle ($5.50/$7) does not differ from any other typical beef noodles you would find in hawker centres. One bite into the beef chunks, however, will wow you by the refreshing taste of lemongrass, which the meat was simmered in. The peppery and light broth also went well with the richly-flavoured beef, making this dish a comforting one. To go with your noodles, Gin Sen also serves side dishes such as Thai Green Mango Salad ($5), Thai Fish Cakes ($5 for four pieces), and Thai Fried Chicken Mid Wings ($3.80 for six pieces)!

Run by Uncle George and his family, the cafe specialises in beef dishes such as Beef Noodles Soup ($7), Beef Brisket Hor Fun ($8.50), and even Oxtail with Rice/Garlic Bread ($9.50). While you can expect the Beef Noodles Soup to come loaded with beef balls and beef slices, those who cannot get enough of the soft and bouncy meatballs can also order their Beef Ball Soup ($6) as a side!

At Authentic Hock Lam Street Popular Beef Kway Teow, a bowl of beef noodles would cost you slightly more than their hawker centre counterparts. Once you get your hands on their Sliced Beef & Beef Ball Noodles ($7.20/$8.20) though, you will find that the huge portion of meat makes every cent worth it. Served either in thick gravy or herbal soup, fans of the cow innards can get their Supreme Mix ($9.50/$$10.50), which comprises of sliced beef, beef balls, tendons, briskets, and beef tripe!

Anyone who has been to Kovan would know the place to be a food paradise that’s home to many famous names including Punggol Nasi Lemak and Lola’s Cafe. If you’re planning to head down there anytime soon, add Cheng Kee Beef Kway Teow to your list of must-visit food places! While the stall offers other types of noodles such as thick bee hoon, they are most popular for their smooth kway teow. Paired with a sweet and peppery beef broth, each bowl of Beef Kway Teow ($4/$5) also comprises of beef tendons, beef slices, and beef balls.

9. Zheng Yi Hainanese Beef Noodles

If you’re in the Potong Pasir area, keep a lookout for Zheng Yi Hainanese Beef Noodles that’s hidden in a corner coffeeshop at Tai Thong Crescent. For the advocators of the phrase “go big or go home”, try their Dry Mixed beef Noodles ($8). Drenched in a thick black sauce, you can expect to find a generous heap of ingredients such as beef slices, beef balls, and beef tendons underneath the noodles. What truly sets this beef noodles apart from the rest will be the crushed peanuts that is tossed onto the pile of messy goodness! For rainy days, they also have Mixed Beef Noodle Soup ($8) that comes with a light and sweet broth instead of thick gravy.

Address: 47 Tai Thong Crescent, Singapore 347867
Opening hours: Mon-Sat 11:30am to 6pm

10. Thien Long

One of my go-to for cheap and good grubs at Orchard would be Thian Long. For $6, their no-frills Beef Noodle Soup comprises a bowl of light broth packed with beef and herbs flavours, brimming with soft rice noodles and beef slices. Another popular dish is their Vietnamese Dry Beef Vermicelli ($6), which is dry vermicelli with fresh lettuce, stir-fried beef, fried shallots, carrots, and roasted peanut. Help yourself to as much fish sauce as you want! I’ll also recommend topping the dish with lime and crushed chilli padi to give it good kick!

Check out our full review of Thien Long!

Address: 400 Orchard Road, #04-02/08, Orchard Towers, Singapore 238871
Opening hours: Daily 11am to 2pm, 6pm to 4am

Same same but different

A simple dish comprising of just beef and noodles can come in so many different variations. From Vietnamese-styled ones to those drench in thick, gooey sauce, this list will have something that satisfies you when the craving for a bowl of comforting beef noodles hit. If beef noodles is not quite your thing, we also have lor mee and braised duck rice stalls and for you to check out!
