Brostern Opens In Pasir Ris With XXL Hawker Platters And Sambal Roti John

Brostern Western food in Pasir Ris

We first reviewed Brostern when they opened in Hougang’s Ci Yuan Hawker Centre last year. The Muslim-owned eatery made waves for their huge Western food platters and affordable, inventive mains. Now, they’ve announced a brand new opening in Pasir Ris.

Brostern Pasir Ris is located at Pasir Ris Hawker Centre. They’re best known for their Ambeng Deluxe Platter ($36), a massive medley of Western dishes, such as a chicken cutlet, fried fish fillet, butter rice and pasta. This also comes with five different sauces.

The platter is great to share with your fam, but Brostern will also bring its individual signatures to their Pasir Ris opening. First is their “Make Your Own Meal” option, starting from $6. Here, you get to pick your base, protein, two side dishes, and sauce.

If you don’t want to fuss over customising your meal, then go for their fixed menu offerings. The Roti John ($6) is a popular choice. You get to pick the type of sauce you want to go into your dish, from salted egg to sambal.

They also have the usual Western-style mains, from $5.50, and burgers. For mains, their pasta offerings are worth your consideration if you’re looking for a fuss-free meal. The flavours are inventive, unlike your usual hawker-style tomato or cream pastas. If you can handle the spice, the Lemak Chilli Padi Pasta ($6) is a must-try.

For the burgers, we recommend trying the Volcano Burger ($6.50), which comes served with a generous dose of cheese sauce and a side of fries.

The new outlet will also see a few sambal-focused dishes on the menu.
