Chatterbox Has An Exclusive Chicken Rice Set With Wine Pairing Just For Mother’s Day

Chatterbox has chicken rice sets for Mother’s Day 2024

Mother’s Day falls on 12 May 2024, and if you’re still struggling to find the perfect gesture to express appreciation for your mom, let us give you a bit of help. Few things say “I love you” like treating your mother to a good meal, so with that in mind, reserve a table for you and your family at the famed chicken rice restaurant, Chatterbox, to indulge in their special Mother’s Day Set Menu.

The set menu is available from 5 May to 12 May, and is priced at $280++ for four diners. For the set, you can enjoy six different menu items, so it’s quite the bang for your buck.

To start, diners can dig into the Mini-trio, comprising three appetisers: a smoky, grilled Chicken Satay, a crunchy Kueh Pie Tee, and a fragrant piece of Otah-Otah. Then, diners are served four sharing mains.

First up is the Mandarin Chicken Rice that Chatterbox is renowned for. Diners are served a boneless half of chicken, four servings of fragrant jasmine rice, and three types of sauces, including their shiok house-made chilli and ginger paste. The chicken comes drizzled with a fragrant light soy-based dressing, for added flavour.

Chatterbox’s chickens are renowned for being super juicy, because of the way the restaurant steams their chicken. The kitchen has perfected a steaming technique that guarantees every order of their Mandarin Chicken Rice features chicken that is consistently tender.  The rice is also extremely fragrant and tasty, complementing the tender chicken breast. Moms deserve the best, after all!

Next, tuck into Sweet & Sour Pork Ribs, a crowd favourite. This take on the popular gu lou yok zi char dish sees super crispy, pillowy fried pork ribs dressed in a tangy, savoury sauce. This dish also comes with enoki mushrooms, which pairs well with the sauce!

You also get a portion of Wok-Fried King Prawns with Homemade Sauce. Each order includes five pieces of large king prawns, perfumed with wok hei, and coated in an umami soy-based sauce.

The last savoury dish you can look forward to is the Stir-Fried Lobster, Abalone with Green Asparagus. This seafood delight combines fresh, sweet lobster meat, briney abalone, and crunchy asparagus.

No course meal is complete without dessert. For Chatterbox’s Mother’s Day menu, finish the meal with their Signature Coconut Ice Cream, where creamy, indulgent coconut ice cream is topped with crunchy walnuts and served in a coconut husk, Thailand-style.

Additionally, diners can enjoy add-ons to their meal to make it more of a treat. If your mom is a huge seafood lover, consider adding on a mini portion of the Lobster Laksa for $15++. Each portion comes with a lemak, coconutty broth, and pieces of sweet lobster meat.

The restaurant has also curated wines to best pair with their Mother’s Day Set Menu, so you can order mom a glass of Lawson Dry Hill’s Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Noir for $10++. Else, splurge on a full bottle for the whole family, at $60++. If everyone doesn’t drink alcohol, don’t sweat it, as you can order a bottle of locally-made booze-free Osmanthus Oolong Sparkling Tea for $55++ instead.
