An affordable yet no less delicious dessert for your end-of-year celebration is the Jolly Truffle Chocolate Cake ($39.90) from FairPrice. This vegan chocolate cake boasts a fudgy, almost brownie-like interior with a rich chocolate frosting that’ll have you coming back for more.

3. ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove


End your festive feast on a light and floral note with the Lychee and Rose Log Cake ($68+) from ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove. This pretty-in-pink number features raspberry and chantilly cream tucked in a soft Japanese sponge, wrapped by white chocolate shards for a stunning finish.

4. Sofitel Singapore City Centre


Those planning a small get-together can consider the Paris-Brest ($67+) from Sofitel Singapore City Centre. This pretty choux pastry dessert weighs between 350 to 400g, making it suitable for an intimate party of three or four people. Comprising hazelnut feuilletine, praline chantilly cream, chocolate cremeux, vanilla cream, caramelised hazelnuts, and mixed berries, the Paris-Brest is a great alternative to your usual log cake.

Decorate your holiday table with a bright log cake from Resorts World Sentosa. The Festive Ruby Chocolate Yule Log with Raspberry ($65++,1kg) comes in a gorgeous shade of bright red. Parkroyal on Beach Road‘s Gula Melaka Logcake ($68+) is available all the way till 2 January 2022, so you can have a belated Xmas celebration or ring in the new year with a fancy treat. The 800g dessert comes in a show-stopping shade of red, and features pandan sponge cake with gula melaka cream and hazelnut feuilletine for a crunch.

Another alternative pick is the Christmas Lapis Fruit Cake (from $28+), a new item featuring a layer of kueh lapis with baked fruit cake.

New on Cat & the Fiddle‘s festive menu this year is the Pistachio Raspberry Praline Logcake ($68.90). This roulade comprises a pistachio cheese mousse on top of a hazelnut chocolate base, finished with an earthy match sponge crumble. Within the cake is a tart raspberry centre for brightness, and smooth chocolate cream cheese for richness. As the cake can be kept in the freezer for up to two weeks, you can order it first before making your EOY gathering plans!

Available from now till 31 December is the Chocolate Praline Crunch Yule Log from Bloomsbury Bakers‘s Christmas range. Made with 66% Valrhona dark chocolate, this rich log cake has a crunchy middle of praline feuilletine. It also features a chocolate genoise sponge, chocolate mousse, and chocolate ganache, so it’s definitely one for the chocoholics.

If you’re hosting a larger party, you can opt for a bigger log cake. The small ($50) feeds up to five; the medium ($60) feeds up to nine; the large ($80) feeds 10 to18.
