Tomo Izakaya is a lively izakaya in the heart of Clarke Quay that serves comforting Japanese spirits and quality food. Its cosy and warm decor makes it a nice place to chill out with a group of friends and unwind over the restaurant’s wide range of Japanese food.

There’s even greater reason to head down to this popular Japanese restaurant as you can now get a Free Makimono Roll ($22) with every three paying customers. The rolls are freshly made to order and are great for sharing. There are seven flavours to choose from, and this includes the likes of Ebiten Avocado Dragon, Salmon Avo Aburi Cheese Maki, and Unagi Cream Cheese Maki. Take note that this promotion is only valid on weekends and a minimum spending of $120 is required.

There are plenty of ramen brands under the Keisuke group, but Ramen Keisuke Lobster King is the most unique out of the lot. Instead of hearty tonkotsu-style broth, this noodle joint in Clarke Quay is known for their rich and velvety-smooth lobster broth. Loads of attention is given in preparing the Lobster Broth Ramen Rich Soup ($14.90++), which includes pan-frying lobster shells, crushing them into fine bits and simmering them for more than 10 hours with a blend of herbs and vegetables.

It’s a good idea to come in a small group as diners will be able to get their fourth ramen for free with every three bowls of ramen ordered on weekends. The complimentary ramen is to be of equal or lower value than the lowest-priced ramen. Take note that other terms and conditions apply.

This unique cooking method not only helps to seal in the natural juices of the food quickly, but is also fun to cook as well. Be sure to try the Surf & Turf Set for One ($54++), that features a mouth-watering selection of wagyu striploin, U.S. striploin, thick cuts of salmon, king prawns, and scallops. There’s also a generous selection of five side dishes to choose from.

A pretty sunny-side-up egg crowns this dish, making this a tasty dish that’s great for sharing.

Located right next to the Singapore River, Zorba the Greek Taverna is a great spot to grab a drink and chill out over tasty Greek bites. Greek cuisine is well known for its large sharing plates, which is why the Wagyu Beef Souvlaki ($20++) would be a great dish to enjoy amongst groups of friends and family. Souvlaki is a type of meat skewer that is grilled over an open flame to give a nice bit of smokiness and a slight tinge of charred flavour. Pair them with fluffy pita bread for an authentic Greek experience.

Free souvlaki or grilled dish will be given for every three main dishes ordered. I’m keeping my eye on the grilled dishes, which feature the likes of Hirinez Brizoles ($22+)a juicy slab of boneless Greek pork chop.
