Yakiniku-Oh is one of Cuppage Plaza’s most beloved restaurants, serving a wide variety of barbecue meat dishes and even A4 Wagyu BBQ Buffet ($67++ per person). The buffet includes all other sides and desserts, and has a time limit of 120min. Izakaya Naniwa demands all patrons comply with one rule: order alcohol when dining in. Children below the age of 18 are hence unable to visit this hidden gem, known to be one of the best-kept secrets of Japanese expats in Singapore. The izakaya offers Obanzai dishes, which are traditional home-cooked food from Kyoto that mostly uses fresh in-season ingredients. This is why the dishes available here change every day, but they do have izakaya classics such as sashimi, tempura, yakitori, and okonomiyaki.

If you’re looking for delicious yet affordable gyoza and ramen, Gyoza No Osho is the place to be. Hidden away in a corner at Cuppage Plaza, Orchard Yong Tau Fu, faces long queues, especially during lunch. The eatery offers really wallet-friendly dishes such as stuffed lady’s fingers and chillies, sliced eggplants, firm and egg tofu, salted duck eggs, century eggs and lobster balls, going at $0.90 each, no matter which ingredient you pick. The minimum number of ingredients is seven, so each bowl of yong tau foo starts from $6.30. Instead of the regular laksa or tom yum soups found at other yong tau foo eateries, Orchard Yong Tau Fu differentiates themselves from other yong tau foo stores by offering their homey yellow soybean soup.

Keria Japanese Restaurant is an authentic and cosy hidden gem suitable for all, even the adventurous. We say adventurous because this is one of the few restaurants where you’ll find Shirako Ponzu ($16++), a fish semen dish.
