Nothing on the menu at Jefri The Original Botak Chicken crosses the $4 mark, making this Muslim-owned chicken rice stall one of the more popular options in the east. Queues start to form as soon as the hawker stall opens at 11:30am, so it might be wise to head down early.
Crowds flock to the Bedok Interchange hawker stall for their Nasi Ayam Goreng ($3.50), which comes with orange-hued rice, chicken slices, cucumber, and a bowl of clear soup. The unusual colour of the rice is achieved by frying the fragrant chicken rice with a mix of sambal and tomato paste, so you get a slightly sweet and spicy flavour.

Famous Bangkok chicken rice chain Go-Ang Pratunam Chicken Rice first launched its Singapore offshoot at NEX in 2018. Since then, the Michelin Bib Gourmand-minted brand has opened four more outlets, including VivoCity and Plaza Singapura.
