Keong Saik Bakery Opens At Holland Village, With New Miso Kouign-Amann And More

Keong Saik Bakery At Holland Village

Keong Saik Bakery, a bakery cafe that offers an attractive mix of traditional and contemporary cakes and pastries, has been one of the standout cafes along Keong Saik Road. You can now try out their delectable treats at their new branch, which is situated in Holland Village’s Chip Bee Gardens.

To mark the opening of their Keong Saik Bakery Holland Village, the brand has launched several new products for you to try.

Keong Saik Bakery already makes excellent kouign-amann, and they offer a matcha version of the pastry as well. With the new Miso Kouign-Amann ($4.70), however, they have gone one step further with their Japanese influences, adding the savoury flavour of miso to the sweet Breton pastry.

Nori seaweed bits are sprinkled over its brown, well-caramelised surface, and its insides are said to be buttery and laced with umami.

The Salmon Eggs Benedict Cube ($7) is a great addition to the Keong Saik Bakery lineup. Cut open this geometrical pastry to find sous vide egg, smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce oozing out of a thyme croissant body.

A pastry filled with pecan nuts and maple custard, the 𝗣𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝘁 ($8.80) is also a new item on the menu. It’s great for anyone who loves both pastries and nuts!

If this is your first time visiting Keong Saik Bakery, you should try some of their fan favourites as well. High on your priority list should be their signature Sor Hei ($5), a black and white Danish pastry modelled after the majie’s hair buns. The majie formed a primary part of Singapore’s heritage; these women mostly worked as nannies or domestic helpers back in the 1930s to 1970s. Here, the Sor Hei pastry is notable for its crispiness on the outside, and rich chocolate chips nestled inside.
