Here at Eatbook, we’re huge fans of Kumoya. The cafe specialises in themed pop-ups with collaborations including the likes of My Little Pony, Sesame Street, Pusheen, and Care Bears. Each iteration delighted us with gorgeous decor and aesthetically pleasing food. As such, we were ecstatic to find out that they will be opening a second outlet at Orchard Central on 29 August 2020!
Located on the fourth floor of the mall, this outlet will overlook the Orchard skyline and span 2000 sq ft—making it way larger than the OG Bugis store. Unlike the Bugis store that’s currently themed after Gudetama and Bad Badtz-Maru, Kumoya’s Orchard outlet will be centred around Rilakkuma—the popular mascot character by San-X.
Unlike previous collaborations which lasted around six months, this pop-up cafe, themed ‘Rilakkuma -The Relax Café’, will last for a year with multiple San-X characters making an appearance.

However, you can still expect themed food at this Orchard outlet—all of which will be designed by gifted artist Shirley Wong aka Little Miss Bento. Some of the dishes include the Chill Chill Matcha Lava Cake ($20.90++) which boasts an oozy matcha lava cake with azuki, dango, vanilla ice cream and more. They will also have a Rilakkuma-shaped Snack Bucket ($29.90++) which you can fill with Popcorn Chicken, Nacho Cheese Fries, Takoyaki, Chicken Spam Fries, or Chicken Meatballs.

If you’re thinking of celebrating a special occasion here, you’re in luck as the store will have a private room—a feature that is not available at Bugis.
So even if you’ve made multiple visits to the original Kumoya, you should still pop by this pop-up cafe at Orchard once it opens to enjoy a spanking new character concept!
Address: 181 Orchard Road, #04-08, Orchard Central, Singapore 238896
