If you’re looking for a quiet cafe away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but still with a central location, head to La Ristrettos. Located within the premises of Novena Medical Centre, which is a short walk from Novena MRT Station, this cosy cafe serves hearty all-day brunch fare and barista-brewed coffee in a beautiful garden setting.

If the weather is ideal, dine outdoors on the alfresco patio, surrounded by lush greenery. Alternatively, head inside and take in the garden views in air-conditioned comfort.

Most of the mains are under $16++, including all-day breakfast dishes such as Buttermilk Pancakes with Salsiccia Sausage and Eggs ($15.80++), served alongside maple syrup and butter. Another noteworthy special is the Cajun Chicken Sriracha Bruschetta ($15.80++), made with house-baked sourdough toast, cajun-seasoned chicken breast, eggs and pickled grapes, served alongside a side salad with sriracha mayo.

There’s also a sweet-savoury French Toast with Bacon and Banana ($14.80++), which stars brioche toast with cinnamon and nutmeg, streaky bacon, fresh banana, mixed nuts, and honey.

For drinks, you won’t go wrong with a Cafe Latte ($5.50++) or Mocha ($5.80++).

If you’re feeling adventurous, try their Ciocolata Calda ($6.50++), an Italian hot chocolate that’s rich and thick. Another popular favourite is the Chai Latte ($6.50++), prepared with the cafe’s blend of masala with Ceylon tea, honey, sugar, and milk.
