As someone who grew up in the East, it saddens me to share this news: another one bites the dust. Long John Silver’s has just announced that its Tampines Mall outlet will be closing on 2 March 2026. The beloved fast food chain has been in Singapore since 1983, so it feels especially significant that one of its most iconic branches is calling it a day. For many of us, it’s more than just a place to grab fried fish—it’s a slice of nostalgia.
Most fast food chains in Singapore offer burgers and fried chicken, but there’s nothing quite like Long John Silver’s and its signature crispy battered fish served with golden fries. A classic choice is the 1pc Alaska Pollock ($5.30), which comes with a side and a carbonated drink of your choice.
There are other fish options, including the 2pc Dory ($7.50) and 1pc Rockfish ($8.90). You can even enjoy both fish and chicken in one plate, such as the crowd-favourite 1pc Alaska Pollock & 1pc Chicken ($6.90).Â
Besides fried goods, you’ll also find the Grilled Cajun Chicken ($9.30), my favourite dish that’s part of the Grill Plate series. Each order is served with rice, salad, and a choice of side and drink of your choice. For a delicious seafood option, consider the Grilled Dory with Chilli Crab Sauce ($9.80) instead.
It’s sad news that Long John Silver’s at Tampines Mall is closing down soon, but here’s a silver lining: there are three other branches nearby, including Eastpoint Mall, White Sands, and 18 Tai Seng.
In the meantime, head down to the Tampines outlet before it’s gone on 2 March 2026.Â
