Just last December, Mellow, which specialises in Japanese melon pan (bread, pronounced āpah-nā), opened its first outlet at Tampines. MelonĀ panĀ is a sweet bun thatās topped with a cookie-like layer on top, and even though it looks like a melon, it tastes nothing like one.

Mellow offers Large Melon Pan ($7.80) which comes with two rusks (twice-baked bread) and two gelato flavours of your choice. There are around 10 gelato flavours to choose from, includingĀ D24 Durian, Avocado, and Black Sesame. This is great for sharing as an after-dinner dessert as Mellow is really generous with their gelato!
If you are not confident of finishing it, they also offer Small Melon Pan ($4.80 for one, $6.80 for two scoops of gelato).Ā Toppings such as rainbow sprinkles and sunflower seeds, are priced at $0.60 each, with the exception of theirĀ durian topping that goes at $2.60. The buns are also sold individually in two different sizes: Small ($2.60 each, $10 for five) and Large ($3.40 each, $9 for three).
