This Y2K-Themed Cafe Near JB Customs Has Cute “Puppy Cake” Brownie And More

Mollylicious Bakes in Johor Bahru has affordable desserts

Located just a 10-minute drive from JB customs, Mollylicious Bakes has been making rounds on TikTok for its Y2K-inspired ambience. Housed in an industrial building, the cafe is designed to resemble a chic New York loft with a touch of grunge.

Inside, you’ll be greeted by exposed concrete walls, leather furnishings, and graffiti art, as well as pink jelly sofas and satin-covered furniture. There’s also an inflatable water fountain placed in one corner of the cafe.

Mollylicious Bakes houses a thrift store on the second floor too—browse through their curated collection of vintage finds while waiting for your food to arrive!

Food-wise, the cafe offers cakes, pastries, and hearty pizzas. Matcha lovers can order the earthy Matcha Cheesecake (RM25/~S$7.12). Topped with sweet blue pea cream, the smooth cheesecake is sprinkled with a dash of sea salt to balance out its creamy flavours.

For something lighter on the palate, try their fluffy Strawberry Shortcake (RM22/~S$6.27) instead. It features thick layers of whipped cream between the cake layers, complemented by real strawberries for some tartness.

You can also try the adorable Puppy Cake (RM25/~S$7.12), which, despite its name, is actually a chocolate brownie. Suitable for those who enjoy denser desserts, this crumbly treat also includes chunks of walnut. It’s extremely chocolatey too—order this only if you have a super sweet tooth!

Wash everything down with Mollylicious’ refreshing drinks such as Bubblegum Soda (RM16/~S$4.56) and Blue Lagoon Soda (RM16/~S$4.56). For something creamy, opt for a cup of Matcha Latte (RM16/~S$4.56) or Rose Latte (RM16/~S$4.56). Feel free to top up RM3 (~S$0.85) if you’d like to enjoy it Extra Kaw.

We spotted some outdoor seats, which look like the ideal spot for winding down in the evening when it’s cooler!
