Nasty Bakehouse Opens At Marina Square With New Pastries Including Durian Croissant

Nasty Bakehouse by Nasty Cookie opens at Marina Square

Many will know Nasty Cookie for their chewy cookies and iconic Tiffany blue branding. Here’s a piece of good news for fans: the newly launched Nasty Bakehouse is finally open at Marina Square with a cool dual concept that combines a cafe and a cookie store.

You’re spoilt for choice here—there are croissants, tarts, cakes, shakes, and the list goes on. We were lucky enough to try seven different pastries comprising both sweet and savoury flavours.

The dual-toned White Choc Mocha ($5.40) was my colleague’s pick of the lot. You get a gooey white chocolate filling in the centre of a coffee-flavoured buttery dough.

Then there’s my favourite, the Durian Crescent ($6.80). Just like its name, this crescent croissant is packed with a creamy and fragrant—though pungent to some—durian puree. We found the crust to be flakier and less buttery compared to the White Choc Mocha!

The ribbon trend seems to be having a moment in the fashion scene right now, and so Nasty Bakehouse came through with the adorable Raspberry Ribbon ($5.40)

This one comes packed with a sweet-tangy raspberry syrup that’s more viscous in terms of texture.

If you need a break from all the sweet treats, get the Mentaiko Turkey Quiche ($6.50) next. This savoury snack features a crispy crust and a creamy, cheesy filling of turkey ham. And not forgetting the most important ingredient: it’s topped with an umami-infused mentaiko cream.

For viennoiseries with a local twist, there’s the Kaya Toast ($5.40) with thin layers of kaya jam both on the outside and within.

Those with a sweet tooth can opt for the Bueno Tart ($8) or Banoffee Danish ($6). The former is great for hazelnut lovers, while the latter stars a Danish pastry with caramelised bananas along with a buttery caramel sauce.

Your visit to Nasty Bakehouse isn’t complete without trying their drinks. We got the Peach Berry Fizz ($6.80) and Biscoff Latte ($6.80/$7.30). The fruity fizz is the perfect thirst quencher, and the Biscoff Latte is a great alternative to sweetened coffee, say vanilla or caramel latte.

If I had to pick one must-try, it would be their outlet-exclusive Mini Cookies that come in three flavours: Kopi, Choc Chip, and White Choc Macadamia. A bag of 100g costs $5.80, while 200g is priced at $10.40, and $14.80 for 300g

The bakehouse also offers cookies from Nasty Cookie, including popular flavours Nasty Monster ($5.80), Oh! Smores ($5.80) and more.

Here’s a pro tip: there’s a row of seats with power plugs at Nasty Bakehouse, so head down to enjoy their new bakes while getting some work done.
