November has arrived and it’s the final month to have a breather before Christmas celebrations come in full swing. Before you become overwhelmed by Christmas shopping and end-of-year vacations, use this month as an opportunity to indulge in good food. From Singapore’s first private ramen booth restaurant to cheap duck confit and steak, here are some new restaurants to visit in November 2019.
Singapore is finally blessed with a private ramen booth restaurant, thanks to the opening of Gangsta Ramen. Located in the CBD, this quaint restaurant pushes out scrummy bowls of ramen at an affordable price. Pay $10 for their Original Ramen, which comes with two long pieces of fatty pork belly, hanjuku egg, bamboo shoots, and black fungus.
If you like your food with a bit of spice, get their Spicy Ramen ($12). Unlike other spicy ramen in Singapore, the one here is given a local twist, with a dollop of sambal added to the mix. This lends the creamy soup a pungent hae bee aroma. Aside from ramen, they also have simple side dishes (additional $3) such as chicken wings, chicken cutlet, smoked duck, and gyoza.

Antoinette has an updated breakfast menu at their newly opened Millenia Walk branch. This swanky cafe offers a range of classic European sandwiches, crepes, and freshly baked French pastries which are served between 8am and 5pm on weekdays. For those who have time for a sit-down meal, try out the Nordic crepe ($18++) which has a generous layer of dill cream cheese topped with slices of smoked salmon. The sprinkles of capers and red onions give this savoury dish tangy notes.
The Ondeh Ondeh Kaya Toast ($6++) features house-made pandan kaya on toasted Italian ciabatta, that’s finished with a block of premium French butter and a drizzle of gula melaka. Riding on the wave of souffle pancakes and BBT, Antionette had expanded their souffle pancakes menu with an Earl Grey Bubble Tea ($14++) flavour, which tastes exactly like BBT, especially with the chewy pearls.

Holiday Inn Atrium Restaurant is now halal certified and has refreshed its buffet lineup to include plenty of live stations and local favourites. Prices start from $64++ but you’ll get 50% off if you’re an IHG Rewards Club Member which you can become for free.
Their chilli crab is doused in a thick and creamy sauce that has a slight kick of spice. Peeling open the mud crab reveals moist and succulent flesh that pairs really nicely with the tangy sauce. Keep an eye out for their laksa, which has been one of the restaurant’s most popular items over the years. We reckon that this flavourful bowl of laksa would give 328 Katong Laksa a real run for its money.
