This Hawker Stall Sells Fresh Oat Milk Drinks At Golden Mile Food Centre

OATla sells fresh oat milk at Golden Mile Food Centre

Golden Mile Food Centre is brimming with hidden hawker gems deserving of more love and recognition, and one of them is OATla, a witty Singaporean take on the popular oat milk brand, Oatly. With more people opting for plant-based milk, the owner of OATla has made it his mission to meet the growing demand of oat milk lovers.

Run by a hawker by the name of Sam Tan, OATla specialises in handmade oat milk. According to 8days.sg, Sam’s day-to-day tasks include soaking, grinding, and boiling oats in small quantities. He pointed out that Australian oats are used, which are known to be high in nutritional value.

Many of us are used to drinking oat milk paired with coffee, and not so much on its own. However, OATla only sells flavoured oat milk, which means you won’t find any coffee here. But there’s fun in trying out a unique variety of oat milk flavours, namely: Original, Signature, Watermelon, Lychee, Longan, Red Bean, and Peach Gum.

Their Signature OATmilk is priced at $3 for iced and $3.50 for warm. Fruit lovers can give their iced Watermelon OATmilk ($3) and Lychee OATmilk ($3.50) a shot to beat the merciless heat.

Alternatively, you can opt for their range of kombucha drinks for something lighter and more refreshing.

Singaporeans are big on toppings in their drinks, and it seems like OATla understood the assignment as they came through with diverse and uncommon toppings to complement the beverages.

You can add Chia Seed or Basil Seed for only $0.50, while Lychee Bits and Longan Bits will cost you $1 per serving. Otherwise, you can opt for the Red Bean or Peach Gum, also priced at $1 each.

If you want to buy their handmade oat milk in larger quantities, or simply want to support the local business, there’s the option of purchasing a 1.25l of Original OATmilk for $10.
