Ramen King is opening a second outlet at Canberra Plaza on 10 March 2022, bringing their affordable, restaurant-quality ramen to Northsiders.
They first opened last year at Tampines, drawing large crowds thanks to their value-for-money Japanese ramen. For those who are not acquainted with Ramen King, the hawker stall is popular for their rich, umami Tonkotsu broth—similar to those you’d find in a legit ramen restaurant, but at a fraction of the price. Â
The stall is run by a former-Ramen Santouka chef, Chef Simon Song, who prepares their signature Tonkotsu broth with a unique four-step preparation method.Â
The broth is carefully prepared and then rested at intervals over three days. Thereafter, it’s brought to a cool room to rest in a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius for half a day. The chef also put much thought into the noodles, as he uses two types of wheat to achieve tender yet chewy yellow egg noodles.
A must-try at their stall is the signature Tonkotsu Ramen ($8). It features their rich Tonkotsu broth, QQ egg noodles, and tender chashu pieces, which are slow-cooked using a secret recipe.
If you’re craving something spicy, go for the Kurobuta Toroniku Spicy Miso Ramen ($15), which comes with thick Kurobuta pork slices.
Pair your ramen with their original Gyozas ($3.50 for three). Alternatively, go for their Cheese Gyozas ($4 for three), covered in melted cheese.
Do take note that only cash payment is accepted. Those who wish to order delivery service can opt for either GrabFood or foodpanda.
