Get Korean Rice Bowls Under $15 At This New Suntec City Eatery

SBCD Korean Rice House has Korean rice bowls at Suntec City

If you thought Tanjong Pagar was Singapore’s only Korean town, you might want to think again. Suntec City is home to plenty of Korean eateries, including Sotpot restaurant, Paik’s Noodle, and Seoul Noodle Shop. Recently, SBCD Korean Rice House joined the mix—a casual eatery where you can get wallet-friendly Korean rice bowls. If the name rings a bell, it’s probably because it’s run by the same team behind SBCD Korean Tofu House.

There are eight types of rice bowls on the menu, with everything priced under $15. Each bowl comes with over 10 different ingredients, including carbs, veggies, and proteins. The cheapest of the lot are Pork Bulgogi K-BOB ($11.80) and Truffle Jjimdak K-BOB ($11.80), where both bowls consist of a medley of ingredients: rice, glass noodles, dried radish strips, mixed lettuce, kimchi, tofu, a deep-fried pork dumpling, corn and more.

There are four spicy options to consider if punchy flavours are your thing. The Creamy Spicy Pork K-BOB ($13.80) has the right amount of spice, quelled by a drizzle of creamy mayo.

Otherwise, go all out with the Samyang Spicy Deep Fried Pork K-BOB ($14.80), which is finished with Buldak cream sauce—yes, the numbingly spicy sauce in the popular Samyang instant noodles.

If you’re not big on spice, we recommend the Jeju Orange Yuzu Chicken K-BOB ($13.80) instead. This dish is similar to the fried lemon chicken we usually find at chicken rice stalls, but made even tastier with the addition of yuzu cream mayo.

You can either dine in or opt for takeaway, whichever is more convenient for you. We don’t exactly know how many diners SBCD Korean Rice House can seat, but from photos online, the space looks rather compact. You might want to get there before the lunch crowd thickens.
