Culinary Class Wars’ Chef “Cooking Maniac” Collabs With Seorae Jib To Launch Exclusive Dishes

Culinary Class Wars’ Chef Yoon Nam No collabs with Seorae Jib

Growing up, I watched MasterChef and Hell’s Kitchen, where passionate chefs from all walks of life came together to compete against each other. Netflix’s Culinary Class Wars is another show that I thoroughly enjoyed; it was so popular that, according to CNA, it ranked first in the Global Top 10 TV list for two consecutive weeks. As a big fan of the series, I was thrilled to hear about the collaboration between Chef Yoon Nam No, who ranked fourth out of 100 participants, and Seorae Jib, the popular Korean restaurant chain.

Chef Yoon Nam No, also known as “Cooking Maniac” on the show, created four exclusive dishes, available from 28 March 2025 to 28 March 2026 at all Seorae Jib outlets. The four dishes are: Misoyaki Galmaegisal, Buchaesal Sotbap, Nuruk So Anchangsal, and Makkoli Sorbet. These items are only available as part of the restaurant’s set meals.

We started with the delicious Misoyaki Galmaegisal, which features premium US pork skirt cut marinated in aged red miso and Korean sake. The meat is cooked over a charcoal grill to add a smoky, caramelised flavour.

We also enjoyed the Buchaesal Sotbap, a winning combination of tender black Angus oyster blade beef and fragrant mushrooms on a warm bed of soft, steaming rice.

This main comes with a side of refreshing greens tossed in Korean fish sauce, which helps to quell the greasiness of the meat.

Our favourite was the Nuruk So Anchangsal, a premium black Angus skirt cut marinated in Korean rice wine.

Every piece of beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and tasted especially good with grilled kimchi and garlic.

End your meal on a sweet, refreshing note with Chef Yoon’s Makkoli Sorbet, starring a boozy sorbet infused with Korean rice wine, yuzu essence, and lemon zest. You mostly get tangy-zesty flavours, with the alcoholic taste taking a backseat.

You can enjoy Chef Yoon’s exclusive dishes in three different ways: Pork Set ($98++), Beef Set ($128++), or the Pork and Beef Set ($118++). My colleague and I indulged in the last set, which comprised 10 items in total, including Chef Yoon’s creations. Some other items in the set include the Smoked Black Pork Samgyeobsal, Chadol Tojang Jjigae, and Cheesy Gyeran Jjim

Chef Yoon’s exclusive dishes will be available for a year from 28 March 2025 at all Seorae Jib outlets. Head down to any of the six branches and try his creations for yourself!
