Sing Swee Kee Has Fried Chicken Rice Balls At New Stall Near Toa Payoh MRT

Sing Swee Kee at Toa Payoh HDB Hub

Sing Swee Kee is a popular chicken rice restaurant on Seah Street that has been around for 20 years and counting. Their new outlet, set to open on 25 October, will be located at Toa Payoh HDB Hub, which is conveniently situated right next to the MRT station.

In celebration of their opening, the team is launching a new item on the menu: Fried Chicken Rice Balls (price TBC). Featuring bite-sized, deep-fried morsels of lightly coated chicken rice orbs, this snackable dish is said to be crunchy on the outside, with a flavourful rice filling once you sink your teeth into it.

For those who prefer something more traditional, the Toa Payoh stall will also offer Chicken Rice Balls (price TBC), which are non-fried.

While the restaurant’s menu has expanded over time to include more dishes, they’re most known for their signature chicken rice—made with a secret family recipe that’s handed down by their Hainanese forefathers. Their blanched chicken is said to be tender and juicy, and best paired with their hand-pounded chilli, green ginger, and dark soya sauce.

For a one-of-a-kind birthday surprise, check out their Chicken Rice Cake ($38), available on their website for pre-order. Specially curated by their chefs, this six-inch cake comprises an aromatic chicken rice base, wrapped with cucumber slices, and topped with the full works: your choice of white or roasted chicken, braised egg, and fresh lettuce. It’ll surely bring a smile across any chicken rice-lovin’ friend! Do note that for this cake you’ll need to order three days in advance.

The new stall will be located in Koufu foodcourt, which is on the second floor of the building. If you’re popping by, they’re giving away a free Fried Chicken Rice Ball with every $5 spend from 1 to 15 November. This deal is limited to one redemption per person, for the first 100 customers daily. For more information visit Sing Swee Kee’s Facebook page.
