Tanglin Cookhouse Has $29.90++ Nasi Lemak Buffet With Free-Flow Beef Rendang, Satay And More

Tanglin Cookhouse has $29.90++ nasi lemak buffet

Nasi lemak is a versatile dish—it’s has been paired with a wide variety of ingredients, ranging from ayam goreng berempah to beef rendang. That’s probably why Tanglin Cookhouse has created Lemak & Co., an a la carte nasi lemak buffet that will set you back just $29.90++.

This feast is available at the Tanglin Mall outlet from Mondays to Wednesdays, and has a dining time limit of 90 minutes. You’ll be treated to a whole range of mains, sides, desserts and more, all of which are stylishly plated and perfect for sharing.

The most important elements of nasi lemak are in this plate of Tumeric Coconut Rice, which you can, of course, get unlimited quantities of. Aside from the coconut rice spiked with turmeric, you’ve got a sambal, roasted peanuts and ikan bilis, a sunny-side-up egg, and slices of cucumber. While the rice was a little lacking in aroma and flavour—despite the kuning—the piquant, slightly sweet sambal made up for it.

The Ayam Goreng Berempah, made with a boneless chicken thigh, was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, although it could’ve used more succulence. The fragrant rempah was nevertheless addictive, and the chicken went well with the rice.

If you’re looking for even more fragrance, then the Braised Beef Rendang will be up your alley. The beef was fork-tender and steeped in a richly spiced gravy that clung to each bite.

You should definitely order as many plates of Sambal Barramundi with Cincalok as you can. Fresh chunks of barramundi were pan-seared and accompanied by sambal and cincalok relish, resulting in a fine plate for seafood lovers.

There’s also a wide variety of snacks and sides to enjoy here, including the Emping Chips with Sambal Belachan, White Rojak Quinoa Salad, and the classic Chicken Satay with Peanut Sauce & Condiments.

Complete your feast with desserts such as Warm Yam “Orh Nee” with Candied Ginko Nuts and Heritage Gula Melaka Sago Pudding—but be warned with the latter, as it can get quite cloying!

There’s a minimum of two diners for this buffet, and with the sheer amount of food involved, that requirement makes sense. Nasi lemak fans, do check out this exciting new buffet while you still can!
