Woodlands Claypot Prawn Opens 2nd Outlet In Tampines, Get Famous “Prawn Hotpot” Here

Woodlands Claypot Prawn opens second outlet in Tampines

Despite having opened a few months ago, Woodlands Claypot Prawn has grown to the point that it is regularly drawing long queues. This success has led to the opening of a second outlet, now set in Tampines.

Their claim to fame is the “claypot prawn” concept that’s centred around a soup base reminiscent of prawn mee. Fueled by charcoal fire, this broth can be enjoyed with prawns, sliced meat, vegetables and more—as you would with traditional hotpot.

You can order this hotpot as the Speciality Prawn Broth ($32.80), which comes with a substantial amount of prawns that are rather sizeable—we reckon this amount could feed up to four people. If you’d like to add an additional 500g of prawns, you’ll need to top up $15.80.

To enjoy the dish hotpot-style, be sure to order ingredients such as Shabu Pork ($8.80), Toman Fish Slice ($6.80), Enoki Mushroom ($2.80) and more. During our visit to the Woodlands outlet, we were mostly impressed with the quality of these ingredients. The shabu pork, for instance, was cut into long and relatively thick slices that turned out quite succulent after simmering in the prawn broth for a while.

In addition to the claypot prawn dish, you can also enjoy the stall’s version of Hokkien Mee ($8.80). While we aren’t fans of Woodlands Claypot Prawn’s rendition, this could be a good option if you’re looking to enjoy the prawn hotpot with something other than rice.
