1932 Story Cafe: New Hidden Cafe At The Restored Bukit Timah Railway Station

1932 Story Cafe at Rail Corridor

The Rail Corridor reopened last year to great fanfare, with Singaporeans flocking to the Bukit Timah stretch each weekend to hike. Trekking in the area previously meant you’d only get to eat at Rail Mall, or Beauty World, but there’s now a new dining option in 1932 Story Cafe, situated in the historic Bukit Timah Railway Station community node!

Named after the year in which Bukit Timah Railway Station—one of only two railways stations in Singapore—was built, 1932 Story Cafe is housed in what used to be the Railway Staff Quarters.

The building has been carefully conserved, with both indoor and outdoor seats available, and antique furniture which transports diners back to the early 1900s.

The menu at 1932 Story Cafe offers local and fusion fare, prepared with no pork or lard—making them a halal-friendly dining spot. There’s pizza, pasta, pies, and small bites on offer, as well as pastries, coffee, and tea!

On the pizza front, there’s Hawaiian, Mushroom Pizza, and Garlic Pizza, all of which are priced at $18.90 each.

Then, there’s Seafood Aglio Olio ($13.90), or Charred Seafood Curry Pasta ($14.90), which you can have along with Truffle Fries ($9), Popcorn Chicken ($10.50), and other side dishes.

If you prefer something more local, there are options such as Ayam Masak Merah ($8.90) and Nasi Lemak with Chicken Wing & Otak ($10.90), or a Malay Rendang Beef Pie ($10.90).

Complete your meal with a drink from their extensive selection: Charred Smoke Latte, Black Latte, Rose Latte, Creme Brulee Cappuccino, Spice Chai Latte and more! Prices of the drinks start from $5.50.

We’ve also compiled a list of restaurants in parks that you could consider for an escape from the bustling city life.

Address: 1005 Bukit Timah Road, Singapore 596121
Opening hours: Daily 9am to 9pm
Tel: 9427 7177
1932 Story Cafe is not a halal-certified eatery, but uses no pork or lard.
