365 Bakery is a popular bakery with long queues in Johor Bahru

It hasn’t been long since 365 Bakery joined the Crest Austin neighbourhood in Johor Bahru (JB)—they only opened in November 2024! And yet, if you see a snaking queue somewhere in the area, it’s probably for this popular bakery, which has already garnered more than 6K followers on their Instagram account at the time of writing.

The current exchange rate is RM1 = ~S$0.30 as of 8 May 2025.

One of the reasons behind their popularity is their wide selection of bakes, ranging from cakes and croissants to bagels and toasts. Of the lot, the Swiss roll series is a crowd favourite, with the Taro Seaweed Chicken Floss Swiss Roll (RM38.90) claiming its spot as the most popular flavour. A long violet roll is packed with sweet taro cream and covered with crispy seaweed chicken floss.

There’s also Japanese Yuzu Cream Cheese Swiss Roll (RM32.90), which is a fruity and creamy alternative. FYI, their Swiss rolls are available from 10am to 2:30pm only.

Shio pan has been all the craze lately, and you can try 365 Bakery’s rendition, available in flavours such as Seaweed Sea Salt Roll (RM4.20) and Chocolate Sea Salt Roll (RM4.50), aside from the Original Sea Salt Roll (RM3.20). Each piece is priced from about $1, a fraction of the cost of what you get in Singapore.

Another popular Japanese-inspired bread is the Purple Yam & Sweet Potato Bun (RM3.80). You get a soft, fluffy bun brimming with a creamy sweet potato filling, said to be earthy and fragrant. Otherwise, the Japanese Taro Bun (RM4.20) is an equally popular choice that sells out pretty quickly.

There are meat floss buns here too, including the Seaweed Chicken Flossie Ball (RM14.90), which comes in a packet of four. But if you’re not a fan of the sweet-savoury combination, we recommend the Azuki Red Bean Honey Butter Toast (RM4.90), which features a sweet, crispy toast layered with red bean paste and a generous slab of butter.

365 Bakery is a 30-minute drive from the customs. Though they are open till 9pm every day, most of their bakes are typically sold out before 5pm, so we encourage you to visit in the morning to avoid a wasted trip.
