2026 has seen new Chinese food brands popping up all over Singapore, and the latest to join the lineup is Xiao Jiao Tian. The Sichuan-inspired restaurant has opened its second outlet on the third floor of Wisma Atria, just a short walk from Orchard MRT Station. Their first outlet is located at City Square Mall.
Xiao Jiao Tian was founded in Fujian in 2013 and has more than 80 kitchens and outlets across China and Singapore to date. While their food is Sichuan-inspired, the flavours are toned down to suit a wider range of tastes. According to the brand, every dish is cooked to order, with no reheating or overnight prep. Customers can even get the dish for free if it doesn’t meet the restaurant’s standards.
Their most well-known dish is the Bullfrog with Pickled Chilli ($39.90++), where tender bullfrog is simmered in a spicy, tangy pickled chilli broth. Other best sellers include the Crispy Roast Chicken ($45.90++) and Shrimp with Garlic Vermicelli (TBD)—the latter features juicy shrimp baked on a bed of fragrant garlic vermicelli.
If you can handle the spice, we recommend ordering the Chinese Sauerkraut Fish ($29.90++), which gets you sliced fish poached in a spicy, sour sauerkraut broth. This dish also lets you adjust the spice level according to your preferences.
For something milder, there’s the classic Sweet & Sour Pork ($24.90++), comprising crispy pork chunks coated in a sweet and tangy sauce.
If that’s not enticing enough, Xiao Jiao Tian has an opening deal for you: get free-flow tea, ice cream, snacks, and rice for just $1.50++ per person, down from the usual price of $3++. You can also sign up for their free membership to get slashed prices on selected dishes.
In more exciting food news, Tiong Bahru Bakery has just launched a giant croissant that’s a whopping 28cm long. If you’re a fan of bubble tea, read our feature on the Playmade x A Hot Hideout collab, which has new mala pearls for a limited time.
