This Viral XXXL Croissant Is Now Available In Singapore

Alice Boulangerie has viral XXXL croissants

The social media sphere has been abuzz of late with videos of extra, extra-large croissants sold at bakeries in Paris, London and more. That’s pretty far away for most of us here in Singapore though, what with the United Kingdom being a 14-hour plane ride away. But if you’re looking to cop one of these for yourself, head instead to Alice Boulangerie, in the much more accessible Icon Village at Tanjong Pagar, because they’ve just released their version of the XXXL croissant right here on our little island too.

In case you missed it, or are in London, the XXXL croissant can be found at French bakery Philippe Conticini, weighing in at 1.5kg and retailing for £25 (~S$42.70).

Compared to the London bakery’s 45cm-long pastry, Alice Boulangerie’s version measures in at 50cm, or half a metre, long!

This XXXL Croissant doesn’t come cheap—one of these will set you back $80+, and you’ll have to preorder it at least three days ahead. It’s the equivalent of 20 regular croissants, which are priced at $4+ each.

Whichever pastry you end up ordering, they are made with premium Elle et Vire butter, and you can taste its richness in every bite.

Enjoy it dunked in a cup of milky hot Cafe Latte ($6++), which some claim is the classic French way, or in Hot Chocolate ($6++), though it must be noted that the one served here is not Parisian-style le chocolat chaud that’s almost like a cup of melted chocolate.

We don’t know about this XXXL croissant, but the Philippe Conticini pastry clocks in at 3,000 calories a pop: a treat that’s probably best shared, we think.

If you’re on the hunt for more upsized food, check out Korat Thai Cafe for XXL tom yum mama pots and stewed Thai pork spine; otherwise, Ye Lai Xiang Tasty Barbecue in Maxwell Food Centre is a wildly popular Western hawker stall that’s got pork cutlets bigger than your face!

Opening hours: Mon-Sat 8am to 9:30pm, Sun 8:30am to 6pm
