Artbox Singapore is returning to our sunny island this year for only two weekends. This time, it is bigger and better. Happening from 25 to 27 May and 1 to 3 June 2018, drop by to enjoy live performances while chilling in hammocks and foam pit zones. Then, shop till you drop with over 400 booths available.
Running from one light installation to the next for the perfect āgram photo may get you hungry, but fret not, as there are over 160 stalls ready to fill your tummy. Here are just 10 of our top picks to get you started!
Itās cereal galore at Cereal Citizen! Start your food tour with theirĀ Crododo + Ms Thai Tea Combo ($8). The toothsome set comes with Thai iced milk tea as well as a croissant donut decorated with cereal or Oreo bits!Ā
Itās only apt that Say Chiizu is setting up a booth at Artbox. After all, both are originally from BKK! Stretch your arm for a massive cheese pull when you purchase their toasts that are stuffed with a blend of cheeses including mozzarella. Flavours include Original, Chocolate, and Charcoal.

Arming yourself with one of Brotiās thirst-quenching milk teas is necessary if you want to survive the throngs of festival-goers. Pretend youāre in Bangkokās Artbox and get a cup of their Thai Iced Tea. Or try something new such as their Charcoal Matcha. They also have refreshing sodas if milky drinks arenāt your thing.
We had Sofnade at the Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar and loved it. A must-try is their Chicken Satay Meatballs in a Bucket ($10). The tender meatballs come covered in spicy peanut sauce, and are accompanied by cucumber slices, onions and rice cakes. Wash everything down with one of their bucket drinks such as Blue Pea Lychee Tea ($8 for one, $10 for two)!
The crepes atĀ Messy MunchĀ are seriously next level. A must-try is thisĀ Dino Siao ($9), which is covered in Milo powder, Milo cereal, and surrounded by Milo nuggets! They also have savoury flavours if youāre not keen on desserts.
As their name suggests, Easy Eggs doles out a variety of egg-centric dishes. A dish that will definitely win the hearts of millennials is their Mentaiko Eggs ($6.90). Here, grilled egg balls are topped with pinkish fish roe sauce, before being torched for a smoky aroma. For fried food lovers, order the Wanton Quail Egg ($6.90)Ā boasting crispy wonton skin.
Donāt miss out Yum Mama if you love Mama instant noodles. You get you pick a level of spiciness, and those who love the heat should go for levelĀ Burn your mama!!!.Ā Expect your mouth to feel like itās on fire when you slurp up a plate of their noodles, which is topped with chicken sausages, prawns and vegetables. They also do a tang hoon (vermicelli) version, if youāre steering clear of instant noodles.Ā
Loosely translated, Saiko means āthe bestā in Japanese. And we totes agree that their takoyaki is pretty damn good. For starters, each of the balls are generously filled with ingredients such as octopus, teriyaki chicken, and braised mushrooms. You can even pick a sauce to go on it! We say go for the Truffle Salt ($10 for six balls) or Miso Butter ($8 for six balls). And unlike most takoyaki found in pasar malam, the balls are not mushy at all, holding their round shape well.Ā
Cool down with some fruity gelato from Lickerbites. There are four flavours to choose from: Raspberry Heaven, Mango Dream, Pineapple Sunset and Dark Forest. You get to choose a topping as well! You can get a cup at $6.90, two at $11, three at $16.50, and four at $20.
Made with 100% fresh fruit, with no artificial flavoured syrups or colourings, you can tell haters that The Juicy Wayās colourful drinks are healthy and not at all gimmicky. Our favourite is The Siam Galaxy ($5.50), which is made from soursop, watermelon, honeydew, blue pea flowers, as well as chia seeds and flax seeds.
Taking place at the Bayfront Event Space, which is three times bigger than last yearās Artbox venue, we are hoping this yearās pop-up will be much better and we donāt have to literally rub shoulders with other festival-goers. Do share with us what stalls you canāt wait to visit at the comments section below!
