Ask any restauranters or hoteliers which is the most sought-after section at their buffet, and I can assure you 9 out of 10 will say it is the seafood on ice. And sure, cold seafood is great, but barbecued seafood is much more aromatic in my opinion. If you love yourself some smokin’ hot barbecue grub, check out these BBQ seafood buffets featuring bounties of ocean gems.
Located near The Southern Ridges at the end of Port Road lies The Three Peacocks. A great place to soak up all that Mother Nature has to offer, this is one hidden gem I wish I didn’t have to share. Aside from the gorgeous scenery, their Live Seafood BBQ buffet ($38++) is also worth the journey down, with crustaceans such as lobster, oysters, and crab up for grabs. They also have live prawns swimming in a tank for you to catch too.

On Fridays and Saturdays, swing by Cocobolo Poolside Bar + Grill for their Barbecue Buffet Dinner ($68++). Better yet, if you have a hotel room, you can take a leisurely dip in the pool at the same time. Expect your mouth to water as the aroma of Cajun-spiced tiger prawns and turmeric-laced arrow squid get fired up a la minute on the grill. A signature dish you can’t miss is their grilled mackerel wrapped in banana leaf.

Greeting you when you step into New Thai Tanic is a bed of ice replete with fresh seafood such as oysters, crab, lobsters and other shellfish. If that’s not all, they also have live mud crabs and freshwater prawns in tanks for you to fish out! Charcoal grills are used here, giving the BBQ seafood a nice smoky aroma. The buffet is rather pricey at $59.90++ per person, but I would say the price is justified for the large amount of seafood available.

Instead of throwing a fancy party for my 21st birthday, I opted for an intimate celebration at Silver Shell Cafe, and it was the best decision I made. Located within Shangri-la Rasa Sentosa Resort & Spa, the theme of their buffet rotates daily, and it’s BBQ Night ($78++) on Fridays that’s a hit. I like how the seafood is grilled outdoors for you a la minute – I never have to worry about smelling like smoke by the end of the meal! Expect a bounty of seafood such as lobsters, crabs, and scallops.

Treat yourself to a sumptuous meal at Grand Hyatt’s Oasis Grill and Buffet. The Daily BBQ buffet ($88++) isn’t as extensive as their counterparts, but they do offer free-flowing booze including a refreshing frozen lime margarita for revellers. Roasted over a wood-fired barbecue are items like plump prawns and market fish of the day. Meat eaters are invited to sink their teeth into their spiced rubbed beef brisket and grass-fed lamb shoulder.

The aromatic scent of grilled seafood never fails to make my mouth water. I will definitely pick seafood over meat any day. If you’re more of a meat person, check out Yakiniku-ohji, which is a Japanese charcoal BBQ buffet restaurant that offers a sushi buffet too, or these Korean BBQ buffets instead!Â
