The last time we were at Bukit Timah Wet Market & Food Centre, we visited Dough bakery to try their affordable croissants and shio pan. This time, there’s a new kid on the block: Bronzo Pasta Bar, a hawker stall selling fresh, handmade pasta under $20, along with a small range of sides and desserts.

The pasta menu is straightforward with only four items, ranging from $13 to $19. One of the most popular options is Amatriciana with Guanciale ($15), featuring a classic spicy Italian sauce, salt-cured pork jowl, and torched cheese as the finishing touch.

FYI, the types of pasta may vary depending on what’s available, so we encourage you to check directly with the staff. Some variations we have seen, though, include rigatoni, bucatini, and pappardelle.

If you don’t mind spending a little more, consider the Beef Cheek Ragu ($19). It comes with a generous serving of slow-cooked, tender beef cheek chunks topped with a sprinkle of cheese. Otherwise, the Carbonara with Guanciale ($15) is a good choice, combining savoury Italian cured meat with a creamy, cheesy sauce.

Besides these handmade pasta dishes, there are two sides and two desserts to consider. The Octopus with Herb ($18) caught our attention with its huge, charred octopus leg, making it an ideal sharing dish for three or four diners.

Round off your meal on a sweet note with the Roasted Barley Apple Compote Almond Crumble ($8), which combines a satisfying nubbly crunch from the almond crumble with a dense yet smooth apple compote base.

Coffee lovers can opt for the Tiramisu Shaved Ice ($7) instead, featuring a layer of shaved ice topped with a scoop of bittersweet tiramisu-inspired cream.

Bronzo Pasta Bar is located within Bukit Timah Wet Market & Food Centre, which is a stone’s throw away from Beauty World MRT Station. Do note that the stall operates till 2pm for lunch, then reopens for dinner service at 5pm.
