Chatterbox Launches Monthly Crab Promos In Flavours Such As Chilli, Black Pepper, And Kam Heong

Chatterbox has crab promotions from August to October

If you love chicken rice as much as we do, you’d be familiar with Chatterbox, which has been around since 1971. The popular Hilton Singapore Orchard restaurant offers much more than just chicken rice, though—from 1 August to 31 October 2024, they’re rolling out monthly crab specials as part of their Chatterbox Crab Fiesta campaign!

Here’s what you need to know: every month, from August to October, you can look forward to an exclusive crab flavour available in limited portions daily. Priced at $168++, each serving gets you around 1.5kg of mud crab, which can feed up to three diners. It also comes with eight mini mantou, an essential side in any crab dish.

Kicking things off this August in celebration of National Day is the Chilli Crab, arguably the most iconic crab flavour in Singapore.

Here, you get a chunky mud crab cooked in an uber-flavourful, mildly spicy tomato-based sauce. We love how the gravy is more savoury than sweet, pairing excellently with the mini deep-fried buns and sweet crab meat.

Dunk in the crispy mantou, making sure to mop up some of those gloriously silky egg ribbons. If eight buns aren’t enough, there’s the option to order more at $2++ apiece!

Come September, the Kam Heong Crab takes centre stage. Translating to “golden fragrance” in Cantonese, this lesser-seen crab dish stars fiery bird’s eye chillies, aromatic curry leaves, and crispy dried shrimp AKA hae bee.

Prepared with a secret mix of fresh herbs and spices, including curry powder, lemongrass, and shallots, the umami-packed paste is not overly spicy too, so we reckon the whole family can enjoy it!

Last but not least, the Black Pepper Crab will be launched this October. Here, the crab is coated in a mildly sweet and peppery sauce that is easy on the palate.

Pair each bite of the perfectly cooked crab meat with the piquant gravy, and you have yourself a winning feast.

If you’re visiting the restaurant during the National Day period, don’t miss out on the Chatterbox National Day Set Menu ($75++ per person), available from 1 August to 9 August.

This five-course meal starts with a mini trio appetiser of Lemon Butter Prawn, Kueh Pie Tee, and Chicken Satay, followed by a mini bowl of Bak Kut Teh

Thereafter, you get a small serving of Chatterbox’s Chilli Crab with Mantou, great for sampling before you commit to ordering a full portion.

Then, the star of the show: Mandarin Chicken Rice, made with free-range chickens cooked in an aromatic stock, and then steamed till tender. This hearty set comes with fragrant chicken rice, as well as a bowl of soup on the side.

The meal ends with the restaurant’s signature Coconut Ice Cream, where scoops of creamy coconut ice cream are topped with walnuts, and then served in an actual coconut husk.

Head down soon to try these limited-time exclusives before it’s too late!
