9 Free-Flow Cheese Buffet Restaurants In Singapore For A Completely #WorthIt Food Coma

Cheese buffets for die-hard cheese lovers

First created thousands of years ago, cheese was once believed to be accidentally created by storing milk incorrectly. Since then, cheese has been associated with European sophistication and general classiness, given its layered flavours. Then it came to Singapore. And we, as Singaporeans, decided to make it part of buffets, because who hates this rich, savoury goodness? Nobody, that’s who. Here are nine restaurants with free-flow cheese for days you need a food coma.

1. Club 55

Perched on the 55th floor of Marina Bay Sands is Club 55. Their Cheese and Chocolate Buffet ($48++) features over 40 chocolatey desserts, and 12 varieties of cheeses. The cheeses here are presented as blocks and wheels, and served as stand-alone bites as compared to cheese dips. Stunning views of the Marina Bay area and Singapore’s skyline are complimentary.

2. Cheese Story Mookata

Cheese Story Mookata switches up the mookata game by providing two little metal sections in your mookata moat. One contains satay sauce, and the other is filled with cheese. Their Mookata Buffet is priced at $29.90, which is an absolute steal, given their wide range of seafood. Featuring crayfish and fresh oysters, you’re bound to get your money’s worth here.

Address: 5001 Beach Road, #02-01, Golden Mile Complex, Singapore 199588
Opening hours: Daily 24 hours

3. Ladyboy Mookata

What’s even better than two mookata moats? Three mookata moats. Each of these roomy moats can hold loads of cheese, so pick three of your favourites out of Ladyboy Mookata’s seven types of cheese dips! Their Weekday Buffets go at $29.90 for adults, and also feature a wide variety of fresh seafood. Reservations are highly recommended.

4. Dookki

Dookki is home to Singapore’s first tteokbokki buffet. Get your fill of Korean rice cakes, served in eight different guises – some come stuffed with ingredients such as cheese and sweet potato. For $18.80++, you get 90 minutes to stuff yourself with as many tteok as you want. Top up $9.80++ for their double cheese ring, which features a stretchy mozzarella and sweet corn mix. In addition to tteok, their buffet also features Korean favourites like kimchi, eomuk, and ramyeon.

6. Wine Universe

Free-flow raclette typically exists as part of a cheese buffet, but at Wine Universe, the Swiss dish takes centre stage. Their Raclette Buffet ($55++) is for those who are unable to feel jelak – you could eat a whole wheel if you so please. Make the most of your cheese with their selection of cold cuts, available from $28++.

Address: 9 Raffles Boulevard, #01-109, Millenia Walk, Singapore 039596

Ash & Elm’s Appetiser and Dessert Lunch ($28++) is something you’ll want to take a half-day leave for. You’ll get unlimited access to their comprehensive spread of appetisers and desserts, which include cold cuts, soups, chocolate fondue fountain, and a live crepe station. Even better, the buffet also comes with free rein over their cheese room, which features curated cheeses from all over Europe. To make the meal even more substantial, you can add a main course at an additional $10++.

Address: 80 Middle Road, Singapore 188966
Buffet hours: Mon-Sat 12pm to 2:45pm

8. Charcoal Thai

Charcoal Thai is a mookata joint that is nothing if not creative. For example, they’ve got Durian Steamboat on the menu! But for something slightly less out there, go for their Cheese Mookata Set ($14.95++) on top of their usual Mookata Buffet (from $15.95++). Instead of a soup, the trough is filled with gooey dipping cheese for maximum decadence. Things might get jelak after a while, but at least you’ll be all filled up.

Check out our full review of Charcoal Thai’s Durian Steamboat!

Address: 23 Serangoon Central, #B1-30/31, Nex, Singapore 556083
Opening hours: Daily 11am to 10:30pm

9. Hook On Steamboat

The cheese at Hook On Steamboat is made of Cheddar Jack and mozzarella, to ensure optimum cheese pull and umami flavour. Choose between their Deluxe (from $20.90+) and Premium (from $30.70+) menus, and tick off BBQ Nacho Cheese on the soup base. The cheese sauce might be too salty to cook foods in, so grill them on the BBQ plate, and dip your items into the cheese instead. When things get too jelak, swap the cheese sauce for a more traditional soup base!

Hook On Steamboat will close on 27 Aug 2017, and will reopen at a new address on 5 Sept 2017. Check out their Facebook page for more details.
