Free salmon sashimi on your birthday

Free food is always good food. And in Singapore, there are quite a number of restaurants that give out free food in celebration of your birthday! From free Boston lobster at The Boiler to the famous gyoza birthday gift at Ikkousha, we foodies can celebrate our birthday month with a full belly without emptying our wallets.

And a new place to give out free food on your birthday is Sumo Bar Happy, a ramen bar and izakaya located along Waterloo, near Bras Basah MRT.

Similar to Ikkousha’s stellar deal, Sumo Bar Happy will be giving as many free salmon sashimi slices on your birthday week, in accordance to your age for the year. This means that if you’re 97 years old, you get 97 slices of salmon sashimi! Now, who says growing old sucks?

To score this deal, you need to dine here within seven days of your birthday. On top of that, you are required to make a reservation online and write “Birthday” on the notes as well as your age. This ensures that you won’t reach there disappointed. After all, it will be a tough one for them to give out 50 free salmon sashimi with no prior notice.

Be sure to gather your fambam too, as there has to be at least four people in the group to celebrate with you. Blackout dates apply, so don’t swing by on Friday or Saturday night. And lastly, don’t forget to pack your IC or passport along!

Other than these T&C, there doesn’t seem to be any other clause including minimum orders. However, I highly doubt you would want to fill up on salmon sashimi along, as Sumo Bar Happy is known for pushing out scrummy ramen!

Treat yourself to their Bone-In Short Rib Ramen ($42++) featuring a 600g short rib that’s slow-roasted for eight hours and braised in a mix of red wine and yakiniku sauce.

Address: 261 Waterloo Street, #01-24, Waterloo Centre, Singapore 180261
Opening hours: Tue-Wed 5:30pm to 10:30pm, Thur-Fri 12pm to 2:30pm, 5:30pm to 10:30pm, Sat 12pm to 10:30pm, Sun 12pm to 10pm (last order at 9:30pm on Sunday and 9:45pm for the rest of the week)
