What is Casa Vostra? Casa Vostra is an Italian restaurant headed by Chef Antonio, who is also behind popular pizzeria La Bottega Enoteca. Fans can look forward to their signature slow-fermented Newpolitan pizzas and handmade pasta here.
We recommend the Crab Tagliatelle ($26++), which comes with a generous serving of tender crab flesh, tomato confit, and a flavourful sauce made with olive oil, garlic, and butter. What really made us pause was the crab meat—it’s surprisingly plentiful and tender, with little pops of sweetness from the tomato confit that cut through the richness nicely.
Alternatively, the Tartufo e Funghi ($28++) is another great pick for sharing; this pizza comes with fresh black truffle, mushrooms, and truffle oil, atop a white base made with two Italian cheeses: Fior di latte, a milder cheese, and Taleggio.

What is Mon Kee Cafe? Mon Kee Cafe opened its first Singapore outpost recently at The Food Place in Raffles City, following four outlets in Hong Kong. Unlike its Hong Kong outlets, which serve a wider range of dishes such as noodles and macaroni, the food court stall here focuses mainly on scrambled egg rice.
We tried the Char Siew Scrambled Egg Rice with Homemade Sweet Soy Sauce ($8.50), where fluffy, barely set eggs blanket the rice, paired with sweet, smoky char siew. The Beef Scrambled Egg Rice with Coriander ($9) was more savoury, with tender slices of stir-fried beef.
