VivoCity is said to be the largest shopping centre in Singapore—there are over 150 dining options for you to pick from! Adding to this ever-changing list of foodie spots is Frozen Heart, a popular Taiwanese chain that’s just set up shop at Basement 2 of the mall.

For those who don’t know, Frozen Heart first landed on our shores in 2023 at Jewel Changi Airport. The brand, which has over 40 outlets across Taiwan, is famous for their fried ice cream: deep-fried milk toast packed with a creamy gelato centre.

Each piece is fried to order, resulting in a golden crust that’s light yet crispy, complemented with a smooth gelato middle that’s still cold on the inside.

They go for $5.50 a pop, with seven flavours to choose from: Apple Blueberry, Taiwan Top Fresh Strawberry, Taiwan Mango Yogurt Passion Fruit, Chocolate, Classic Vanilla, Sea Salt Peanut, and Aurora Starry Sky AKA mint chocolate chip. Get the most bang for your buck when you buy three pieces for $14!

If you don’t mind splurging, get the Musang King Durian ($7.50), made with MSW durian from Malaysia.

There’s also an option to customise your frozen treat with their add-ons; simply top up $2 for a fruit spread and two toppings of your choice.

Based on our personal experience, the fried gelato is best enjoyed on the spot as the ice cream melts rather quickly.

In related dessert news, McDonald’s has launched a new strawberry soft serve for a limited time only! You can also check out our complete guide to the best dessert spots in Singapore for your next sweet tooth fix.
