Hainan Laoba Has Free-flow Dim Sum And Hainanese Food For Just $24.90++ In Orchard

Hainan Laoba has $24.90++ Hainanese buffet

Orchard Cineleisure has food options aplenty, but if you’re looking to fill your belly without busting your budget, consider swinging by Hainan Laoba, a Hainanese restaurant that’s currently running a buffet where diners get Hainanese fare and dim sum for just $24.90++ per person.

The $24.90++ price tag is available on weekdays, from 11am to 10pm, or $34.90++ on weekends. Diners get a total of 90 minutes. You need to come in groups of two, minimum, to order from the buffet.

The menu has over 40 items, spanning Hainanese specialties, dim sum, zi char, rice, noodles, and even dessert. For most of the dishes, you get to have three portions each.

The specialties are limited to one order per person. You get quite the selection to pick from, including a fragrant Special Ginger Chicken, and Special Salt Baked Chicken.

Both level up the usual steamed chicken you get with your chicken rice order—the former is power-packed with notes of ginger, while the latter has extra-juicy chicken meat thanks to the cooking method. Other specialties include Fried Prawns with Garlic, and Special Noodles.

On the carbs front, you get a variety of different fried rice items, or you fan, AKA chicken rice, if you want to enjoy that with your steamed chicken order. You also get a fair few types of noodles, including orders of their Hainan Beef Brisket Hor Fun and Pork Hor Fun.

On to meats, you get a handful of classic zi char staples—stir-fried beef, sweet and sour fish—alongside some restaurant signatures, such as their Laoba Curry Chicken.

Definitely save space for their dim sum. You get all the classics, from siew mai, to har gao, to a variety of bao buns with fillings, but also Haianese Yi Bua. Yi bua, for the unfamiliar, is a steamed Hainanese dumpling that’s filled with grated coconut, crushed peanuts and sesame seeds, as well as palm sugar.

If you’re a big fan of Hainanese pork and chicken chop, you can get that here as well!

We’ve barely just scratched the surface of what the Hainan Laoba buffet has to offer, so check it out for yourself the next time you’re in town.
