It’s no secret that Singaporeans love Wagyu beef. There’s just something about the fatty, marbled cuts of beef that makes for a perfect treat-yourself meal, especially if it’s prized Japanese Wagyu. If this has got you craving some Wagyu beef, then look no further than Hanare by Takayama’s upcoming Miyazaki A4 Gyukatsu set, available this October for a limited time only.
The Miyazaki A4 Gyukatsu set feeds two people and is available in extremely limited portions—only 10 for lunch and 10 for dinner.Â
Let’s break down what you get with each set.Â
First, the Miyazaki A4 gyukatsu steak. Each set comes with a 200g serving of steak that has been breaded and deep-fried. If you’re suspicious as to whether Wagyu can still be as juicy and as buttery after it’s deep-fried, we’re here to offer a resounding “yes”. What’s more, the breadcrumbed exterior, fried to a beautiful golden brown, adds a delightful crunch.
You also get a hot stone teppan, so there’s the option to grill the steak to your preferred doneness at the table!
The set also comes with a portion of Fried Garlic Kamameshi. Hanare by Takayama is known as Singapore’s best kamameshi restaurant after all, so it’s no surprise that their signature dish plays a part in this set.
For those who don’t know, kamameshi is a traditional Japanese mixed rice dish slow-cooked in a kama, AKA a traditional iron pot. At Hanare by Takayama, you can be rest assured that your kamameshi is made with premium ingredients, including koshihikari rice from Niigata, which is said to be one of the best varietals of rice there is.
With the Fried Garlic Kamameshi, you get fluffy koshihikari rice that has been topped with sweet edamame, mushrooms, as well as crispy and fragrant garlic chips!
That’s not all: each set comes with fresh, thickly sliced sashimi and chawanmushi on the side.Â
We’re huge fans of the snow crab chawanmushi, starring silken egg curd that’s loaded with crab meat and innards. Velvety, sweet, and umami, this side won us over.Â
Finally, the set ends off with a serving of frozen yuzu and mango parfait with candied yuzu peel—a super refreshing end to the meal.
