If you’re an Eastie, you’ll want to check out Heartland by Enjoy. This Tampines cafe serves up modern Nanyang-style eats by Chef Joel Ong, the man behind Enjoy Eating House. It is located within N4 Neighbourhood Centre, a 12-minute walk from Tampines East MRT Station.

The cafe offers a variety of nasi lemak, though one in particular stands out: the Heartland Pork Belly Berempah ($14.90). Like ayam goreng berempah, the pork belly here is spiced and fried for a crispy finish. The plate also comes with the usual nasi lemak elements—coconut rice, roasted peanuts, ikan bilis, and a sunny-side-up egg—though interestingly, it also includes calamari.

They’ve also got Nanyang-style toasts and sandwiches, such as the classic Traditional Kaya Butter Toast ($2.90), Heartland Peanut Butter Toast ($2.90), Luncheon Meat Omelette Sandwich ($6.90) and more. For the perfect breakfast combo, be sure to add on the Soft Boiled Eggs ($2.50), which you can dip your toast into!

Don’t miss out on the drinks! Heartland by Enjoy has various coconut speciality drinks, including the Coconut Kopi ($2.90), Coconut Smoothie ($7.90), and even the Coconut Jasmine Tea Latte ($5.90). If you prefer your drinks no frills, there’s the good ol’ Kopi (from $2.40) and Teh ($2.40) to enjoy as well.
