Here’s some good news for Korean food fanatics: Culinary Class Wars Season 1 contestant and celebrity chef Min Yohan has just opened Sansok in Hougang Mall, after the viral success of sister restaurant Bibim Deli. The new Korean restaurant revolves around the concept of “hansang”, loosely translated as “a table full of food”, comprising a traditional Korean table setting of rice, soup, and a plethora of side dishes AKA banchan.

Mains come with rotating banchan and sotbap rice—rice cooked in individual-serving metal pots, which results in a crispy, golden-brown layer of scorched rice. Prices start at just $12.90++ for a lunch main, with free-flow banchan included!

Patrons can choose from a variety of charcoal-grilled meats and fish, including their signature Salt-Cured Mackerel ($21.90++), which features a whole mackerel. Online reviews described it as having a clean, briny taste, yet remaining moist and flaky from the salt-curing process.

If you’re not much of a seafood lover, you can opt for their Pork Galbi ($18.90++) instead, which is said to be marinated for over 48 hours in soy sauce and fresh fruits, giving it a natural sweetness and tender bite. Their Tteokgalbi & King Oyster Mushroom ($15.90++) is a good option as well, featuring juicy, marinated beef patties with a smoky grilled aroma.

Their soups are not to be missed, too. Go for the Spicy Braised Mackerel Stew ($18.90++) for a hearty, spicy gochujang-based broth, packed with mackerel and white radish, or their Dried Pollack Seaweed Soup ($17.90++) for a more homely, traditional option.

If you’re looking for more side dishes to zhng up your meal, you can explore their variety of Korean pancakes, such as the Seafood Pancake ($17.90++): thin, crispy batter loaded with scallions, squid, shrimp, and clams. Another popular item is Cheese Gyeran-Jjim ($12.90++), which comprises fluffy steamed egg topped with melty mozzarella cheese.

You can also choose to top up your meal with free-flow drinks and DIY Bingsu for just an additional $2++. Better yet, there’s currently an ongoing deal: from now till 31 October 2026, you can get the top-up for only $1++.
