Hello Arigato Opens In Tiong Bahru With Orh Nee Coffee, Cai Poh Egg Sando And More

Hello Arigato opens new cafe in Tiong Bahru

There’s a lot to love about Hello Arigato: the creative lineup of their outlet-exclusive items, picture-perfect interiors, and of course, their delicious sando in so many different flavours. If you’re a fan of the popular cafe like I am, check out their latest opening in Tiong Bahru this weekend!

I was most excited to try the limited Veg Me Up Sando ($16.50++), birthed from a collaboration with local chef Bjorn Shen. For the uninitiated, Chef Bjorn Shen helms the famous Singaporean Middle Eastern restaurant Artichoke!

Back to the vegetarian sando—this flavour-packed sandwich features broccoli nanban, roasted shiitake mushrooms, pickled green apples, house-made tartar sauce, and togarashi slaw. Though there wasn’t any meat in the sandwich, the winning combination of roasted veggies and sweet-tangy sauce made it really memorable for me.

Moving on to the outlet-exclusive CP Egg Sando ($15++), this delicious sando consists of crispy cai poh dashi omelette, velvety-soft over-easy egg, house-made hae bee hiam, and creamy kewpie mayo neatly stuffed between two slices ofJapanese milk bread. I particularly enjoyed the combination of the sweet bread with the shrimp paste, which was mildy spicy and packed with umami.

Back to another item special at their Tiong Bahru branch: the Yuzu Koshu Wings ($12++), starring crispy fried chicken wings in a house-made honey yuzu kosho glaze. These wings were everything I look for in a good, fried chicken: tender and juicy throughout, crispy despite being left out for some time, and the perfect balance between sweet and salty.

We get it if you don’t want to debone chicken wings; the Ume Floss Fries ($8++) is an equally delicious alternative, great for sharing with your dining companions. These crispy sweet potato fries are topped with ume mayo and a handful of chicken floss, adding a touch of sweetness to the savoury snack.

Besides outlet-exclusive and limited-time edition items, you can expect steady sellers such as the Gyu Sando ($28++) and Porkatsu Sando ($25++) at the Tiong Bahru outlet.

As for drinks, I tried the crowd-favourite Coffee Orh Nee Cloud ($6.50++), made using fresh milk, double espresso shots, and finished with a thick layer of taro cold foam. The coffee wasn’t overly sweet or cloying, and the taro foam mostly added to the creamy texture of the beverage.

I ended my meal with the Basque Burnt Cheesecake Cube ($10++), created from a genius collaboration with the popular cheesecake brand Paparch. My favourite bit of this dessert was the creamy molten core and the adorable mini square look!

Inspired by the warm, woody vibes of cafes that line the streets of Copenhagen, Hello Arigato in Tiong Bahru provides a cosy space for 32 diners to enjoy a slow day with their loved ones.

FYI, this outlet recently opened on 22 February 2025, so please extend some grace if you encounter any hiccups.
