Michelin-Approved Ju Xing Home Has $21.80++ High Tea For Two In Orchard

Ju Xing Home has an affordable high tea set at Takashimaya

Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant Ju Xing Home, which hails from Hong Kong, has rolled out a high tea set on weekdays, 2:30pm to 5:30pm. It’s affordably priced at $21.80++ for two people, which works out to just $10.90++ per diner!

Here’s how it works: simply pick out your preferred snack, vegetable, meat, carb, and dessert. The price you’re paying comes with five courses and feeds two diners, which is a pretty good deal for a restaurant in town—Ju Xing Home is in Basement 2 of Takashimaya Shopping Centre, a short walk from Orchard MRT Station.

Kick things off with a snack; top picks range from the refreshing Black Fungus Salad and Japanese Cucumber Pickles to addictive picks such as Honey Glazed Anchovies and Fried Fish Skin With Salted Egg. From the meat section, highlights include Prawn Paste Chicken and Si Chuan Mala Poached Chicken (top up $1++).

Fill up on the carbs with their Supreme Soy Sauce Fried Noodles, which we tried and loved on our previous visit. These springy noodles are said to be smoky and packed with wok hei, tossed with crunchy bean sprouts and chives.

Else, their Abalone Sauce Fried Rice with Diced Chicken and Stir Fry Beef Tenderloin Hor Fun (top up $2++) are popular, too!

Round up the high tea experience with your choice of dessert: Mango Sago Pomelo, Red Bean Soup with Dried Orange Peel, or Glutinous Rice Dumplings With Grated Peanuts.

Do note that the last order for the afternoon tea is 4:15pm.

If you’re here for lunch or dinner instead, try the Sweet and Sour Pork (from $16.80++): deep-fried boneless prime ribs glazed in a sticky sauce that’s sweet, savoury, and tangy altogether.
