Famous Fish Soup By Ka-Soh Returns As Orchard Pop-Up Till 31 August 2026

Ka-Soh returns at Tanglin Cookhouse for a limited time only

Ka-Soh, the famous zi char restaurant that started in 1939, stunned the local food scene when it announced that it would close on 28 September 2025. As it turns out, that date is no longer the last time fans can savour the signature fish noodle soup, as Kah-Soh’s dishes will be available at Tanglin Cookhouse from now till 31 August 2026.

This limited-time pop-up is part of Tanglin Cookhouse’s Tanglin Heritage Series, which aims to spotlight the nation’s beloved hawker icons. Ka-Soh is the first name to be featured in the series, and what a way to kick things off—given that they’re basically resurrecting a legend.

The must-order here is the Signature Fish Noodle Soup ($18++). This premium rendition at Tanglin Cookhouse uses grouper instead of the original snakehead, but the other elements closely mirror the original: thick bee hoon noodles, Cantonese-style fish soup, and baby chye sim. The milkiness you see in the broth is the result of bones boiled for hours, forming a rich, flavourful emulsion full of collagen.

Also available are the Prawn Paste Chicken Mid Wings ($15++ for 8pcs), which we found to be tender to the bone and packed full of hae bee flavour. We hope the version at Tanglin Cookhouse will be just as good!

If you get separation anxiety after dining here, you can bring the flavours of Ka-Soh home with the Signature Frozen Fish Soup (400g). This is available for purchase in-store only at $12++, while stocks last.
