KFC Launches Takoyaki-Inspired Zinger, Exclusive Merch And More For Christmas

KFC has new takoyaki-inspired Zinger burger and more

KFC has taken a Japanese turn with the launch of new limited-time-only items, just in time for Christmas! These dishes, available from 26 Nov 2025 to 1 Jan 2026, are inspired by popular flavours from Japan—especially takoyaki, which influences two of the dishes we will be talking about.

The Oiishii Zinger Burger ($7.45) combines the classic Zinger with a rich, sweet-and-savoury Japanese sauce and creamy mayonnaise, then tops it off with smoky, umami-packed bonito flakes and spring onion. It’s a curious blend that works decently well, especially thanks to the crispy and juicy chicken patty.

The flurry of bonito flakes continues in the Oiishii Chicken Bites ($6.80). Imagine a plate of six takoyaki balls, but the takoyaki are replaced with popcorn chicken. It brings a surprising lift to what’s typically a pedestrian bite-sized snack.

There’s also the Sweet Potato Fries (from $4.20), based on the popular Japanese ingredient of the same name. No bonito flakes here—just crispy, earthy sweet potato fries.

For something sweet, try the Hazelnut Chocolate Egg Tart ($2.50), where smooth hazelnut chocolate meets creamy custard for a rich, velvety finish.

In addition to the new Japanese-inspired dishes, five KFC outlets have been refreshed with themed decor. Compass One features a sakura-inspired setup, Jurong Point takes on a Shibuya-style neon look, Sun Plaza opts for a snowy shrine setting, and HarbourFront Centre features a Mount Fuji backdrop. The Kallang branch, which we visited, features a Torii gate surrounded by sakura trees.

Speaking of Kallang, the outlet has recently been renovated and now sports what might be the best-looking KFC in Singapore. It is spacious, modern, and cleverly uses the brand’s motifs throughout the space.

You can also get KFC-related merch here. There are shirts, socks, and even pickleball paddles to choose from—hardcore KFC stans will find much to like with this revamped outlet.
