Crowned as one of the best wanton mee in Singapore, Koung’s Wanton Mee has set down its roots in the west with their first-ever air-conditioned outlet in Jem.

Fans of Koung’s in the west now no longer have to travel to Sims Avenue for a taste of their old school wanton mee, dressed with their tender charcoal-grilled char siew, succulent wontons and al dente egg noodles. Tossed with their homemade chilli and pork lard, these noodles have stood the test of time.
Second-generation hawker Bernard Koung seeks to introduce a more premium version of their Singapore-style wanton mee to a wider audience by bringing his father’s 56-year-old legacy out of the heartlands, into the modern shopping mall. This is a massive step as Koung’s began humbly as a pushcart hawker in 1964, and today, it has scaled new territory with this flagship.
Opt for their signature bowl of Wanton Mee ($4.80), which features fatty char siew, charcoal-roasted to perfection. Don’t miss out on their homemade chilli, which gives the noodles their signature taste.
It is a must to complete your meal with a piping hot bowl of Dumpling Soup ($4). Filled with a savoury mix of minced pork and prawn, these dumplings are much heartier than their wanton counterparts.
This new outlet will start operations on 25 August 2020 at basement one in Jem. Be sure to head down and grab a plate of their famous wanton mee in the comfort of an air-conditioned environment!
