Here’s a heads up to all avid cafe-hoppers ─ beloved Japanese cafe, Kyushu Pancake, will be opening its new branch at Holland Village from 21 August. Originally at Novena Regency, this pretty cafe is known for their iconic fluffy pancakes and brunch fare, including waffles, french toasts and eggs benedict.

Kyushu Pancake takes pride in their quality selection of ingredients. Their food is free of emulsifiers, artificial fragrance and engineered starch. What makes their offerings legit is the signature pancake mix they use, which is made from seven finely-selected grains 100% homegrown in the Kyushu province. Moreover, they use 100% Kyushu buttermilk powder, which gives the pancakes a richness.

One of their most hyped-up options are the Mont Blanc Pancakes ($18), which features a stack of fluffy pancakes garnished with an avalanche of matcha mousse, matcha mont blanc (chestnut-flavoured) sauce, fresh cream and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

This new outlet is a mere two-minute walk from Holland Village MRT. The quirky murals on the cafe’s walls are illustrated by local artists and urban sketchers James Lim, Don Low, James Tan, Favian Ee, Victoria Moey and Jeffrey Yap. The murals enliven the neutral-toned minimalist interior, adding a fun touch to the otherwise zen-looking space.
