If you’re an Eastie, you probably have memories of eating at the McDonald’s in Tampines Mall, as the fast-food restaurant has been a mainstay for years. That’s why some will be sad to hear that the outlet is set to close, with operations ceasing on 8 March 2026, 8pm.

We caught wind of the news via this I Love Tampines post on Facebook, and it seems that Tampines netizens are already paying their tributes to it. One commenter called this McDonald’s the mall’s “icon”. Another went as far as to say that “it’ll never be the same experience not having McDs there”. The people really seem to love this particular outlet.

So if you’d like to enjoy the outlet while you still can, now’s a good time to do so. McDonald’s is still in the Prosperity Burger season, so you can get your fix there along with the signature Twister Fries and more.

The best way to enjoy these is with the Prosperity Chicken Burger Extra Value Meal (from $8.95) or Double Prosperity Beef Burger Extra Value Meal (from $11.75), which also come with the icy cold cup of Peach McFizz (from $3.65) as the cherry on top.

Something new-ish to enjoy is the Garlic Pepper Chicken McNuggets (from $6.70), which are essentially your classic McNuggets coated with black pepper and a hint of garlic towards the end. You can read more about this iconic burger and its accompanying sides via our Prosperity Burger coverage. If you’d like to collect plushie versions of these treats, read our Prosperity Pals plushies coverage.
